 Jeremiah 14, verse 13-16

Drought, Famine, Sword

13 But I said, “Alas, Sovereign Lord! The prophets keep telling them, ‘You will not see the sword or suffer famine. Indeed, I will give you lasting peace in this place.’”

14 Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. 15 Therefore this is what the Lord says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, ‘No sword or famine will touch this land.’ Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine. 16 And the people they are prophesying to will be thrown out into the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and sword. There will be no one to bury them, their wives, their sons and their daughters. I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve.

13 لیکن میں نے خداوند سے کہا، “ہمارے مالک خداوند! نبی لوگوں سے کچھ اور ہی کہہ رہے تھے۔ وہ یہودا ہ کے لوگوں سے کہہ رہے تھے، تم لوگ دشمن کی تلوا ر سے دکھ نہیں اٹھا ؤ گے۔ تم لوگوں کو کبھی بھوک سے مصیبت نہیں ہو گی۔ خداوند تمہیں اس ملک میں سلامتی دے گا۔”

14 تب خداوند نے مجھ سے کہا، “اے یرمیاہ! وہ نبی میرے نام پر جھو ٹی نبوت کر تے ہیں۔ میں نے ان نبیوں کو نہیں بھیجا اور نہ حکم دیا اور نہ ان سے کلام کیا۔ وہ جھو ٹی رو یا، غیب دانی اور دھو کہ بازی سے اپنی نبوت کو ظاہر کرتے ہیں۔ 15 وہ جھو ٹے نبی جو کہ میرے نبی ہو نے کا دعویٰ کر تے ہیں حالانکہ میں نے ان لوگوں کو نہیں بھیجا ہے کہتے ہیں، ’ یہ ملک نہ تو دشمنوں کی تلوا ر کا سا منا کرے گا اور نہ ہی کسی قدرتی آفت کا سامنا کریگا۔‘ اس لئے خداوند نے ان نبیوں کے با رے میں یہ کہا ہے: وہ اپنے دشمنوں کی تلوار سے یا قدرتی آفت سے پو ری طرح

تبا ہ و بر باد ہو جا ئیں گے۔ 16 ان لوگوں کو جن سے وہ نبی باتیں کر تے ہیں یروشلم کی گلیوں میں پھینک دیئے جا ئیں گے۔ وہ لوگ یا تو بھو کے مریں گے یا پھر دشمن کی تلوا رسے ہلاک ہو جا ئیں گے کو ئی شخص ان کو یا انکی بیویوں یا ان کے بیٹوں یا ان کی بیٹیوں کو دفنانے کیلئے نہیں رہے گا۔ میں ان سبھوں کو سزا دوں گا۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God tell Jeremiah about draught and said that inhabitants and nobels will be disturbed as they will not find water and feel ashamed - Farmers and birds are in distressed because of harsh weather iniatated by God 

God told me don’t pray for these people although they fast, offer burnt offerings, I will not accept them – I will destroy them with sword, famine and plague

God said they love to go here and there so Lord will remember their wickedness and punish them for their sins

I told God that prophets are telling them that there will be peace – God told me they are prophesying to you false visions in my name but I didn't send  them – so all the prophets will be thrown into the streets of Jerusalem because of famine and sword – there will be no one to bury them – I will pour out on them the calamity they deserve

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
