 Jeremiah 16, verse 10-13

Day of Disaster

10 “When you tell these people all this and they ask you, ‘Why has the Lord decreed such a great disaster against us? What wrong have we done? What sin have we committed against the Lord our God?’ 11 then say to them, ‘It is because your ancestors forsook me,’ declares the Lord, ‘and followed other gods and served and worshiped them. They forsook me and did not keep my law. 12 But you have behaved more wickedly than your ancestors. See how all of you are following the stubbornness of your evil hearts instead of obeying me. 13 So I will throw you out of this land into a land neither you nor your ancestors have known, and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’

10اور جب تُو یہ سب باتیں اِن لوگوں پر ظاہِر کرے اور وہ تُجھ سے پُوچھیں کہ خُداوند نے کیوں یہ سب بُری باتیں ہمارے خِلاف کہِیں؟ ہم نے خُداوند اپنے خُدا کے خِلاف کَون سی بدی اور کَون سا گُناہ کِیا ہے؟ 11تب تُو اُن سے کہنا خُداوند فرماتا ہے اِس لِئے کہ تُمہارے باپ دادا نے مُجھے چھوڑ دِیا اور غَیر معبُودوں کے طالِب ہُوئے اور اُن کی عِبادت اور پرستِش کی اور مُجھے ترک کِیا اور میری شرِیعت پر عمل نہیں کِیا۔ 12اور تُم نے اپنے باپ دادا سے بڑھ کر بدی کی کیونکہ دیکھو تُم میں سے ہر ایک اپنے بُرے دِل کی سختی کی پیرَوی کرتا ہے کہ میری نہ سُنے۔ 13اِس لِئے مَیں تُم کو اِس مُلک سے خارِج کر کے اَیسے مُلک میں آوارہ کرُوں گا جِسے نہ تُم اور نہ تُمہارے باپ دادا جانتے تھے اور وہاں تُم رات دِن غَیر معبُودوں کی عِبادت کرو گے کیونکہ مَیں تُم پر رحم نہ کرُوں گا۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God told me you will not marry in this land because God says that sons and daughters born in this land will die because of deadly disease – they will not be mourned or buried – they will perish by sword and famine and their dead bodies will become food of animals and birds

God told Jeremiah don’t enter in a house of feast as before your days end, sounds of joy will finish in this place

God said if they ask why God is bringing this disaster on us – what sin we have committed, tell them your ancestors have forsaken me and you are still following the stubbornness of your heart instead of obeying me – so I will through you out of this land to a foreign land and there you will serve other gods day and night and I will show you no favor

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
