 Jeremiah 18, verse 1-10

At the Potter’s House

This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Go down to the potter’s house, and there I will give you my message.” 3 So I went down to the potter’s house, and I saw him working at the wheel. 4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

5 Then the word of the Lord came to me. 6 He said, “Can I not do with you, Israel, as this potter does?” declares the Lord. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel. 7 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, 8 and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. 9 And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, 10 and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it.

یَرمِیاہ کُمہار کے گھر

1خُداوند کا کلام یَرمِیاؔہ پر نازِل ہُؤا۔ 2کہ اُٹھ اور کُمہار کے گھر جا اور مَیں وہاں اپنی باتیں تُجھے سُناؤُں گا۔ 3تب مَیں کُمہار کے گھر گیا اور کیا دیکھتا ہُوں کہ وہ چاک پر کُچھ بنا رہا ہے۔ 4اُس وقت وہ مِٹّی کا برتن جو وہ بنا رہا تھا اُس کے ہاتھ میں بِگڑ گیا۔ تب اُس نے اُس سے جَیسا مُناسِب سمجھا ایک دُوسرا برتن بنا لِیا۔

5تب خُداوند کا یہ کلام مُجھ پر نازِل ہُؤا 6کہ اَے اِسرائیل کے گھرانے کیا مَیں اِس کُمہار کی طرح تُم سے سلُوک نہیں کر سکتا ہُوں؟ خُداوند فرماتا ہے دیکھو جِس طرح مِٹّی کُمہار کے ہاتھ میں ہے اُسی طرح اَے اِسرائیل کے

گھرانے تُم میرے ہاتھ میں ہو۔ 7اگر کِسی وقت مَیں کِسی قَوم اور کِسی سلطنت کے حق میں کہُوں کہ اُسے اُکھاڑُوں اور توڑ ڈالُوں اور وِیران کرُوں۔ 8اور اگر وہ قَوم جِس کے حق میں مَیں نے یہ کہا اپنی بُرائی سے باز آئے تو مَیں بھی اُس بدی سے جو مَیں نے اُس پر لانے کا اِرادہ کِیا تھا باز آؤُں گا۔ 9اور پِھر اگر مَیں کِسی قَوم اور کِسی سلطنت کی بابت کہُوں کہ اُسے بناؤُں اور لگاؤُں۔ 10اور وہ میری نظر میں بدی کرے اور میری آواز کو نہ سُنے تو مَیں بھی اُس نیکی سے باز رہُوں گا جو اُس کے ساتھ کرنے کو کہا تھا۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said you Israelites are in my hands like a clay in potter’s hand – If a nation do evil and later repent so I will change my mind of bringing disaster on them but if a nation or kingdom is to be built and later it do evil so I will consider of doing good with it or not

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
