 Jeremiah 18, verse 13-15

13 Therefore this is what the Lord says:

“Inquire among the nations:     Who has ever heard anything like this? A most horrible thing has been done     by Virgin Israel. 14 Does the snow of Lebanon     ever vanish from its rocky slopes? Do its cool waters from distant sources     ever stop flowing? 15 Yet my people have forgotten me;     they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways,     in the ancient paths. They made them walk in byways,     on roads not built up.لوگ خُداوند کو رَدّ کرتے ہیں

13اِس لِئے خُداوند یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ

دریافت کرو کہ قَوموں میں سے کِسی نے

کبھی اَیسی باتیں سُنی ہیں؟

اِسرائیل کی کُنواری نے نِہایت ہَولناک کام کِیا۔

14کیا لُبناؔن کی برف جو چٹان سے مَیدان میں بہتی ہے کبھی بند ہو گی؟

کیا وہ ٹھنڈا بہتا پانی جو دُور سے آتا ہے سُوکھ جائے گا؟

15لیکن میرے لوگ مُجھ کو بُھول گئے

اور اُنہوں نے بطالت کے لِئے بخُور جلایا

اور اُس نے اُن کی راہوں میں یعنی قدِیم راہوں

میں اُن کو گُمراہ کِیا

تاکہ وہ پگڈنڈیوں میں جائیں اور اَیسی راہ میں

جو بنائی نہ گئی۔

My point of view about above verses

God said you Israelites are in my hands like a clay in potter’s hand – If a nation do evil and later repent so I will change my mind of bringing disaster on them but if a nation or kingdom is to be built and later it do evil so I will consider of doing good with it or not

God said go to people of Judah and Jerusalem – I am preparing a disaster for you so turn from your evil ways but they will say no we will not do that – we will follow the stubbornness of our hearts

My people worship idols and burn incense for worthless idols - they forgot me 

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
