Jeremiah and Pashhur

God Rejects Zedekiah’s Request

⁶ I will strike down those who live in this city—both man and beast—and they will die of a terrible plague. ⁷ After that, declares the Lord, I will give Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the people in this city who survive the plague, sword and famine, into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and to their enemies who want to kill them. He will put them to the sword; he will show them no mercy or pity or compassion.’

6اور مَیں اِس شہر کے باشِندوں کو اِنسان و حَیوان دونوں کو مارُوں گا۔ وہ بڑی وبا سے فنا ہو جائیں گے۔ 7اور خُداوند فرماتا ہے پِھر مَیں شاہِ یہُوداؔہ صِدقِیاہ کو اور اُس کے مُلازِموں اور عام لوگوں کو جو اِس شہر میں وبا اور تلوار اور کال سے بچ جائیں گے شاہِ بابل نبُوکدؔرضر اور اُن کے مُخالِفوں اور جانی دُشمنوں کے حوالہ کرُوں گا اور وہ اُن کو تِہ تیغ کرے گا۔ نہ اُن کو چھوڑے گا نہ اُن پر ترس کھائے گا اور نہ رحم کرے گا۔ 

My point of view about above verses

Priest Pashhur & Zephaniah who were in charge of temple of Lord asked Jeremiah that ask God that King of Israel Zedekiah inquire shoug we go and fight Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon - will God do wonders in our favoures - Jermiah asked God and reply them that God says I will put mt anger and wrath against you through Babylonian king

God told Jeremiah tell Zedekiah king of Jerusalem who sent people to inquire of your from Lord that your weapons will turn against you – I will hand over to you to king of Babylon – I will strike people with plague and who survives from it will die due to famine and sword. King of Babylon will show no mercy or compassion

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
