 Jeremiah 22, verse 6-9

⁶ For this is what the Lord says about the palace of the king of Judah:

God told following about king of Judah

“Though you are like Gilead to me,     like the summit of Lebanon, I will surely make you like a wasteland,     like towns not inhabited. ⁷ I will send destroyers against you,     each man with his weapons, and they will cut up your fine cedar beams     and throw them into the fire.

⁸ “People from many nations will pass by this city and will ask one another, ‘Why has the Lord done such a thing to this great city?’ ⁹ And the answer will be: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord their God and have worshiped and served other gods.’”

6کیونکہ شاہِ یہُوداؔہ کے گھرانے کی بابت خُداوند یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ اگرچہ تُو میرے لِئے جِلعاد ہے اور لُبناؔن کی چوٹی تَو بھی مَیں یقِیناً تُجھے اُجاڑ دُوں گا اور غَیر آباد شہر بناؤُں گا۔ 7اور مَیں تیرے خِلاف غارت گروں کو مُقرّر کرُوں گا۔ ہر ایک کو اُس کے ہتھیاروں سمیت اور وہ تیرے نفِیس دیوداروں کو کاٹیں گے اور اُن کو آگ میں ڈالیں گے۔

8اور بُہت سی قَومیں اِس شہر کی طرف سے گُذریں گی اور اُن میں سے ایک دُوسرے سے کہے گا کہ خُداوند نے اِس بڑے شہر سے اَیسا کیوں کِیا ہے؟ 9تب وہ جواب دیں گے اِس لِئے کہ اُنہوں نے خُداوند اپنے خُدا کے عہد کو ترک کِیا اور غَیر معبُودوں کی عِبادت اور پرستِش کی۔

My point of view about above verses

God said people will pass by and ask what has done to this city, and the answer would be God did this as they have forsaken their Lord and serve other gods

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
