 Jeremiah 24, verse 8-10

Two Baskets of Figs

⁸ “‘But like the bad figs, which are so bad they cannot be eaten,’ says the Lord, ‘so will I deal with Zedekiah king of Judah, his officials and the survivors from Jerusalem, whether they remain in this land or live in Egypt. ⁹ I will make them abhorrent and an offense to all the kingdoms of the earth, a reproach and a byword, a curse and an object of ridicule, wherever I banish them. ¹⁰ I will send the sword, famine and plague against them until they are destroyed from the land I gave to them and their ancestors.’”

8پر اُن خراب اِنجِیروں کی بابت جو اَیسے خراب ہیں کہ کھانے کے قابِل نہیں خُداوند یقِیناً یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ اِسی طرح مَیں شاہِ یہُوداؔہ صِدقیاہ کو اور اُس کے اُمرا کو اور یروشلیِم کے باقی لوگوں کو جو اِس مُلک میں بچ رہے ہیں اور مُلکِ مِصرؔ میں بستے ہیں ترک کر دُوں گا۔ 9ہاں مَیں اُن کو ترک کر دُوں گا کہ دُنیا کی سب مُملکتوں میں دھکّے کھاتے پِھریں تاکہ وہ ہر ایک جگہ میں جہاں جہاں مَیں اُن کو ہانک دُوں گا ملامت اور مِثل اور طَعن اور لَعنت کا باعِث ہوں۔ 10اور مَیں اُن میں تلوار اور کال اور وبا بھیجُوں گا یہاں تک کہ وہ اُس مُلک سے جو مَیں نے اُن کو اور اُن کے باپ دادا کو دِیا نیست ہو جائیں گے

My point of view about above verses

When King of Judah and all skilled workers carried into exile by king Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon – the Lord showed me 2 baskets of figs one with good figs & other bad that can’t be eaten

God told me like these good figs, I regard the exile from Judah, These people will return to their land – I will give them a heart and I will be their Lord and they will be my people as they will return to me with full heart

So far as bad figs are concerned, I will deal Zedekiah king of Judah like this – I will make them abhorrent and an offence to all kingdoms of earth and an object of ridicule – I will send the sword, famine and plague against them until they are destroyed from the land I gave to them and their ancestors

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
