 Jeremiah 25, verse 27- 29

The Cup of God’s Wrath

²⁷ “Then tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.’ ²⁸ But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it! ²⁹ See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.’

قَوموں پر خُداوند کا غضب

27اور تُو اُن سے کہے گا کہ اِسرائیل کا خُدا ربُّ الافواج یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ تُم پِیو اور مست ہو اور قَے کرو اور گِر پڑو اور پِھر نہ اُٹھو۔ اُس تلوار کے سبب سے جو مَیں تُمہارے درمِیان بھیجُوں گا۔ 28اور یُوں ہو گا کہ اگر وہ پِینے کو تیرے ہاتھ سے پِیالہ لینے سے اِنکار کریں تو اُن سے کہنا کہ ربُّ الافواج یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ یقِیناً تُم کو پِینا ہو گا۔ 29کیونکہ دیکھ مَیں اِس شہر پر جو میرے نام سے کہلاتا ہے آفت لانا شرُوع کرتا ہُوں اور کیا تُم صاف بے سزا چُھوٹ جاؤ گے؟ تُم بے سزا نہ چُھوٹو گے کیونکہ مَیں زمِین کے سب باشِندوں پر تلوار کو طلب کرتا ہُوں ربُّ الافواج فرماتا ہے۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said as you didn’t listen my words – I will bring all peoples of north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar – king of Babylon against this land to destroy it and make it a object of horror and scorn and an everlasting ruin- there will be no sounds of joy and gladness- the whole country will become a desolate land and these nations will serve king of Babylon for 70 years

God said when seventy years will finish I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation and land of Babylonians for their guilt and will make it desolate forever

God said all things written in this book and told through Jeremiah shall be fulfilled against this land – they will be enslaved by many great kings – I will repay them according to their deeds and work of their hands

God told me take from my hand this cup filled with wine of my wrath and all nations have to drink it – after drinking they will all stumble and become mad because of the sword I will send among them

I Jeremiah took the cup from Lord’s hand and let all the kings on the face of the earth has to drink it

God said all has to drink and vomit and if they refuse to drink – tell them this is what Lord says I am about to bring disaster on the city bears my name and will you indeed go unpunished – no , I am calling down a sword who live on the earth

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
