 Jeremiah 26, verse 16-18

Jeremiah Threatened With Death

¹⁶ Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, “This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the Lord our God.”

¹⁷ Some of the elders of the land stepped forward and said to the entire assembly of people, ¹⁸ “Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah. He told all the people of Judah, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty says:

“‘Zion will be plowed like a field,     Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble,     the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets.

16تب اُمرا اور سب لوگوں نے کاہِنوں اور نبِیوں سے کہا کہ یہ شخص واجِبُ القتل نہیں کیونکہ اُس نے خُداوند ہمارے خُدا کے نام سے ہم سے کلام کِیا۔

17تب مُلک کے چند بزُرگ اُٹھے اور کُل جماعت سے مُخاطِب ہو کر کہنے لگے۔ 18کہ مِیکاؔہ مورشتی نے شاہِ یہُوداؔہ حِزقیاہ کے ایّام میں نبُوّت کی اور یہُوداؔہ کے سب لوگوں سے مُخاطِب ہو کر یُوں کہا کہ ربُّ الافواج یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ

صِیُّون کھیت کی طرح جوتا جائے گا

اور یروشلیِم کھنڈر ہو جائے گا

اور اِس گھر کا پہاڑ جنگل کی اُونچی جگہوں کی

مانِند ہو گا۔

My point of view about above verses

God told Jeremiah stand in the courtyard of Lord’s house and speak to all the people of Judah, probably they listen and I relent myself to not bring disaster because of the evil they have done- if you will not listen and follow my law which I have set before you and if you will not listen to my prophets whom I have sent to you again and again – I will make this house a city of curse among all the nations of earth

All people threatend Jeremiah to die as he was speaking on LORDS'S NAME that this city will be destroyed 

and if you put me to death - you will bring the guilt of shedding of innocent blood on you as i am speaking as LORD asked me to speak

God told Micah in the days of Hezekiah that Zion will be plowed like a field and Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
