 Jeremiah 29, verse 1- 7

A Letter to the Exiles

 This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. ² (This was after King Jehoiachin and the queen mother, the court officials and the leaders of Judah and Jerusalem, the skilled workers and the artisans had gone into exile from Jerusalem.) ³ He entrusted the letter to Elasah son of Shaphan and to Gemariah son of Hilkiah, whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. It said:

⁴ This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: ⁵ “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. ⁶ Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. ⁷ Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

یَرمِیاہ کا خط بابل میں یہُودیوں کے نام

1اب یہ اُس خط کی باتیں ہیں جو یَرمِیاؔہ نبی نے یروشلیِم سے باقی بزُرگوں کو جو اسِیر ہو گئے تھے اور کاہِنوں اور نبِیوں اور اُن سب لوگوں کو جِن کو نبُوکدؔنضر یروشلیِم سے اسِیر کر کے بابل لے گیا تھا۔ 2(اُس کے بعد کہ یکُونیاؔہ بادشاہ اور اُس کی والِدہ اور خواجہ سرا اور یہُوداؔہ اور یروشلیِم کے اُمرا اور کارِیگر اور لُہار یروشلیِم سے چلے گئے تھے)۔ 3العاسہ بِن سافن اور جمریاؔہ بِن خِلقیاہ کے ہاتھ (جِن کو شاہِ یہُوداؔہ صِدقیاہ نے بابل میں شاہِ بابل نبُوکدؔنضر کے پاس بھیجا) اِرسال کِیا اور اُس نے کہا

4ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا اُن سب اسِیروں سے جِن کو مَیں نے یروشلیِم سے اسِیر کروا کر بابل بھیجا ہے یُوں فرماتا ہے۔ 5تُم گھر بناؤ اور اُن میں بسو اور باغ لگاؤ اور اُن کا پَھل کھاؤ۔ 6بِیویاں کرو تاکہ تُم سے بیٹے بیٹِیاں پَیدا ہوں اور اپنے بیٹوں کے لِئے بِیویاں لو اور اپنی بیٹِیاں شَوہروں کو دو تاکہ اُن سے بیٹے بیٹِیاں پَیدا ہوں اور تُم وہاں پَھلو پُھولو اور کم نہ ہو۔ 7اور اُس شہر کی خَیر مناؤ جِس میں مَیں نے تُم کو اَسِیر کروا کر بھیجا ہے اور اُس کے لِئے خُداوند سے دُعا کرو کیونکہ اُس کی سلامتی میں تُمہاری سلامتی ہوگی۔ 

My point of view about above verses

Jeremiah wrote a letter to priests and people who exiled to Babylon - and told them God says go there and settle in their cities - pray for that city as if the city will prosper, you will prosper - get married and increase in numbers 

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
