 Jeremiah 29, verse 29-32

A Letter to the Exiles

²⁹ Zephaniah the priest, however, read the letter to Jeremiah the prophet. ³⁰ Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: ³¹ “Send this message to all the exiles: ‘This is what the Lord says about Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, even though I did not send him, and has persuaded you to trust in lies 

³² this is what the Lord says: I will surely punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his descendants. He will have no one left among this people, nor will he see the good things I will do for my people, declares the Lord, because he has preached rebellion against me.’”

29اور صفنیاؔہ کاہِن نے یہ خط پڑھ کر یَرمِیاؔہ نبی کو سُنایا۔ 30تب خُداوند کا یہ کلام یَرمِیاؔہ پر نازِل ہُؤا کہ 31اَسِیری کے سب لوگوں کو کہلا بھیج کہ خُداوند نخلامی سمعیاؔہ کی بابت یُوں فرماتا ہے اِس لِئے کہ سمعیاؔہ نے تُم سے نبُوّت کی حالانکہ مَیں نے اُسے نہیں بھیجا اور اُس نے تُم کو جُھوٹی اُمّید دِلائی۔ 32اِس لِئے خُداوند یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ دیکھو مَیں نخلامی سمعیاؔہ کو اور اُس کی نسل کو سزا دُوں گا۔ اُس کا کوئی آدمی نہ ہو گا جو اِن لوگوں کے درمِیان بسے اور وہ اُس نیکی کو جو مَیں اپنے لوگوں سے کرُوں گا ہرگِز نہ دیکھے گا خُداوند فرماتا ہے کیونکہ اُس نے خُداوند کے خِلاف فِتنہ انگیز باتیں کہی ہیں۔ 

My point of view about above verses

Jeremiah wrote a letter to priests and people who exiled to Babylon - and told them God says go there and settle in their cities - pray for that city as if the city will prosper, you will prosper - get married and increase in numbers 

 God told through Jeremiah that go to Babylon and do not trust on prophets and diviners  there, if you will not go i will send famine, pestilence and you will be like rotten fig which can't be eaten 

God told Jeremiah, tell Israelites that do not trust prophets and diviners who prophecy lies on my name, I will hand them over to king of Nebuchadnezzar and he will kill them

God told Jeremiah that tell Israelites priests to imprison all who are telling lies on God's name 

God asked Israelites who went to exile to stay there, plant garden and build houses as you are going to stay in Babylon for long time.  

God said through Jeremiah that i will punish those who tell lies on my name - they and their descendants  will not see the good i  will do to my people 

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
