 Jeremiah 35, verse 12-14

The Rekabites

¹² Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying: ¹³ “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go and tell the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem, ‘Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?’ declares the Lord. ¹⁴ ‘Jehonadab son of Rekab ordered his descendants not to drink wine and this command has been kept. To this day they do not drink wine, because they obey their forefather’s command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me.

یرمِیاہ اور ریکابی

۔ 12تب خُداوند کا کلام یَرمِیاؔہ پر نازِل ہُؤا۔ 13کہ ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ جا اور یہُوداؔہ کے آدمِیوں اور یروشلیِم کے باشِندوں سے یُوں کہہ کہ کیا تُم تربِیّت پذِیر نہ ہو گے کہ میری باتیں سُنو خُداوند فرماتا ہے؟ 14جو باتیں یُوناداؔب بِن ریکاؔب نے اپنے بیٹوں کو فرمائِیں کہ مَے نہ پِیو وہ بجا لائے اور آج تک مَے نہیں پِیتے بلکہ اُنہوں نے اپنے باپ کے حُکم کو مانا لیکن مَیں نے تُم سے کلام کِیا اور بر وقت تُم کو فرمایا اور تُم نے میری نہ سُنی۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said Jeremiah go to Rekabite family and invite them come to house of Lord and give them wine to drink

Jeremiaha brought Rekabite family to house of Lord and offer them wine to drink as God commanded him to do 

But Rekabite family told Jeremiah that we never drink wine, build houses rather live in tents as our forefathers have commanded us 

However we live in Jerusalem now because of invasion of our land by king of Babylon 

God said to Jeremiah that tell Judah and Israel that descendants of Rekab obey their forefathers and not drinking wine while you do not obey me despite lot of warnings  

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
