 Jeremiah 35, verse 18-19

The Rekabites

¹⁸ Then Jeremiah said to the family of the Rekabites, “This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘You have obeyed the command of your forefather Jehonadab and have followed all his instructions and have done everything he ordered.’ ¹⁹ Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: ‘Jehonadab son of Rekab will never fail to have a descendant to serve me.’”

یرمِیاہ اور ریکابی

18اور یَرمِیاؔہ نے ریکابِیوں کے گھرانے سے کہا کہ ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ چُونکہ تُم نے اپنے باپ یُوناداؔب کے حُکم کو مانا اور اُس کی سب وصِیّتوں پر عمل کِیا ہے اور جو کُچھ اُس نے تُم کو فرمایا تُم بجا لائے۔ 19اِس لِئے ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ یُوناداؔب بِن ریکاؔب کے لِئے میرے حضُور میں کھڑے ہونے کو کبھی آدمی کی کمی نہ ہو گی۔ 

My point of view about above verses

When Jermeiah told Rekab family to drink wine –they said we don’t drink as our forefather ordered us to not drink it and always live in tent so that you can live long – so from that day we obeyed them – So God tell Jeremiah tell people of Judah and Israelites that Rekab family obeyed their forefather and you are not obeying me as I told you through my prophets then turn from your wicked ways and do not follow other gods but you didn't pay attention

So God said I am going to bring all disaster on Judah and Jerusalem as I spoke to them but they did not listen – I called them and they did not answer

But God said tell Rekabites as you fulfill the command your forefather Jehonadab gave you so you will never fail to have a descendant to serve me.

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
