 Jeremiah 36, verse 4-7

Jehoiakim Burns Jeremiah’s Scroll

⁴ So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and while Jeremiah dictated all the words the Lord had spoken to him, Baruch wrote them on the scroll. ⁵ Then Jeremiah told Baruch, “I am restricted; I am not allowed to go to the Lord’s temple. ⁶ So you go to the house of the Lord on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the Lord that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns. ⁷ Perhaps they will bring their petition before the Lord and will each turn from their wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”

بارُوک ہَیکل میں طُومار پڑھتا ہے

⁴ تب یرمیاہؔ نے بارُوکؔ بن نیرؔ یاہ کو بلایا اور بارُوکؔ نے خداوند کا وہ سب کلام جو اُس نے یرمیاہؔ سے کیا تھا اُسکی زبانی کتاب کے اُس طومار میں لکھا ۔

⁵ اور یرمیاہؔ نے بارُوکؔ کو حکم دیا اور کہا کہ میں تو مجبور ہوں ۔ میں خداوند کے گھر میں نہیں جا سکتا ۔

⁶ پر تو جا اور خداوند کا وہ کلا م جو تو نے میرے منہ سے اُس طومار میں لکھا ہے خداوند کے گھر میں روزہ کے دن لوگوں کو پڑھکر سُنا اور تمام یہوداہؔ کے لوگوں کو بھی جو اپنے شہروں سے آئے ہوں تو وہی کلام پڑھکر سُنا۔

⁷ شاید وہ خداوند کے حضور منت کریں اور سب کے سب اپنی بُری روش سے باز آئیں کیونکہ خداوند کا قہر وغضب جسکا اُس نے اِن لوگوں کے خلاف اِعلان کیا ہے شدید ہے ۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said to Jeremiah take a scroll and write on it all the words concerning Israel and Judah I have spoken with you time to time- perhaps when they hear about infliction I am bringing on them – turn back from their wicked ways then I will forgive them

Jeremiah dictated the word of God to Baruch to be wriiten and told him to go to temple and read it to people on the day of fasting so that they may hear and repent and God forgive them

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
