 Jeremiah 36, verse 8-10

Jehoiakim Burns Jeremiah’s Scroll

⁸ Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the Lord’s temple he read the words of the Lord from the scroll. ⁹ In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the Lord was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah. ¹⁰ From the room of Gemariah son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper courtyard at the entrance of the New Gate of the temple, Baruch read to all the people at the Lord’s temple the words of Jeremiah from the scroll.

بارُوک ہَیکل میں طُومار پڑھتا ہے

⁸ اور بارُوک ؔ بن نیریاہؔ نے سب کچھ جیسا یرمیاہؔ نبی نے اُسکو فرمایا تھا ویسا ہی کیا اور خداوند کے گھر میں خداوند کا کلام اُس کتاب سے پڑھکر سُنایا۔

⁹ اور شاہِ یہوداہؔ یہویقیمؔ بن یوسیاہؔ کے پانچویں برس کے نویں مہینے میں یوں ہوا کہ یروشلیم کے سب لوگوں نے اور اُن سب نے جو یہوداہ کے شہروں سے یروشلیم میں آئے تھے خداوند کے حُضُور روزہ کی منادی کی۔

¹⁰ تب بارُوک نے کتاب سے یرمیاہؔ کی باتیں خداوند کے گھر میں حمبر یاہؔ بن سافن ؔ منشی کی کوٹھر ی میں اُوپر کے صحن کے درمیان خداوند کے گھر کے نئے پھاٹک کے مدخل پر سب لوگوں کے سامنے پڑھ سُنائیں ۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said to Jeremiah take a scroll and write on it all the words concerning Israel and Judah I have spoken with you time to time- perhaps when they hear about infliction I am bringing on them – turn back from their wicked ways then I will forgive them

Jeremiah dictated the word of God to Baruch to be wriiten and told him to go to temple and read it to people on the day of fasting so that they may hear and repent and God forgive them

Baruch went to God's house and read to people the word of God on the day of fasting dictated by Jeremiah 

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
