 Jeremiah 36, verse 22-24

Jehoiakim Burns Jeremiah’s Scroll

²² It was the ninth month and the king was sitting in the winter apartment, with a fire burning in the firepot in front of him. ²³ Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire. ²⁴ The king and all his attendants who heard all these words showed no fear, nor did they tear their clothes.

بارُوک ہَیکل میں طُومار پڑھتا ہے

22اور بادشاہ زمِستانی محلّ میں بَیٹھا تھا کیونکہ نواں مہِینہ تھا اور اُس کے سامنے انگِیٹھی جل رہی تھی۔ 23اور جب یہُودؔی نے تِین چار ورق پڑھے تو اُس نے اُسے مُنشی کے قلم تراش سے کاٹا اور انگِیٹھی کی آگ میں ڈال دِیا یہاں تک کہ تمام طُومار انگِیٹھی کی آگ سے بھسم ہو گیا۔ 24لیکن وہ نہ ڈرے نہ اُنہوں نے اپنے کپڑے پھاڑے نہ بادشاہ نے نہ اُس کے مُلازِموں میں سے کِسی نے جِنہوں نے یہ سب باتیں سُنی تِھیں۔ 

My point of view about above verses

God said to Jeremiah take a scroll and write on it all the words concerning Israel and Judah I have spoken with you time to time- perhaps when they hear about infliction I am bringing on them – turn back from their wicked ways then I will forgive them

Jeremiah dictated the word of God to Baruch to be wriiten and told him to go to temple and read it to people on the day of fasting so that they may hear and repent and God forgive them

Baruch went to God's house and read to people the word of God on the day of fasting as dictated by Jeremiah 

All officials interested to listen God's word dictated by Jeremiah and thought they have to inform king - King tell them to read scroll 

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
