 Jeremiah 37, verse 18-21

Jeremiah in Prison

¹⁸ Then Jeremiah said to King Zedekiah, “What crime have I committed against you or your attendants or this people, that you have put me in prison? ¹⁹ Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, ‘The king of Babylon will not attack you or this land’? ²⁰ But now, my lord the king, please listen. Let me bring my petition before you: Do not send me back to the house of Jonathan the secretary, or I will die there.”

²¹ King Zedekiah then gave orders for Jeremiah to be placed in the courtyard of the guard and given a loaf of bread from the street of the bakers each day until all the bread in the city was gone. So Jeremiah remained in the courtyard of the guard.

یَرمِیاہ کی گرِفتاری اور قَید میں ڈالا جانا

8اور یَرمِیاؔہ نے صِدقیاہ بادشاہ سے کہا کہ مَیں نے تیرا اور تیرے مُلازِموں کا اور اِن لوگوں کا کیا گُناہ کِیا ہے کہ تُم نے مُجھے قَید خانہ میں ڈالا ہے؟ 19اب تُمہارے نبی کہاں ہیں جو تُم سے نبُوّت کرتے اور کہتے تھے کہ شاہِ بابل تُم پر اور اِس مُلک پر چڑھائی نہیں کرے گا؟ 20اب اَے بادشاہ میرے آقا! میری سُن۔ میری درخواست قبُول فرما اور مُجھے یونتن مُنشی کے گھر میں واپس نہ بھیج اَیسا نہ ہو کہ مَیں وہاں مَر جاؤُں۔

21تب صِدقیاہ بادشاہ نے حُکم دِیا اور اُنہوں نے یَرمِیاؔہ کو قَید خانہ کے صحن میں رکھّا اور ہر روز اُسے نانبائِیوں کے محلّہ سے ایک روٹی لے کر دیتے رہے جب تک کہ شہر میں روٹی مِل سکتی تھی۔ پس یَرمِیاؔہ قَید خانہ کے صحن میں رہا۔

My point of view about above verses

Zedekiah was made new king of Judah by king of Babylon - and he sent meesage to Jeremiah to pray to God for us 

King Zedekiak asked Jermehiah to pray from God for us and inquire about us – God said tell him Pharos’s army of Egypt which is marching to support you will go back to Egypt – then the Babylonians will return and attack this city and capture it and burn it down

God said don’t deceive yourself that you will escape from Babylonians- surely they will come and burn this city down

King Zedekiah asked mockingly from Jeremiah – is there any word came from the Lord - & Jeremiah replied – you will be delivered into the hands of king of Babylon

King Zedekiah imprisonsed Jeremiah in the courtyard of guards 

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
