 Jeremiah 38, verse 19-22

Zedekiah Questions Jeremiah Again

¹⁹ King Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “I am afraid of the Jews who have gone over to the Babylonians, for the Babylonians may hand me over to them and they will mistreat me.”

²⁰ “They will not hand you over,” Jeremiah replied. “Obey the Lord by doing what I tell you. Then it will go well with you, and your life will be spared. ²¹ But if you refuse to surrender, this is what the Lord has revealed to me: ²² All the women left in the palace of the king of Judah will be brought out to the officials of the king of Babylon. Those women will say to you:

“‘They misled you and overcame you—     those trusted friends of yours. Your feet are sunk in the mud;     your friends have deserted you.’

صدقیاہ یرمِیاہ سے صلاح لیتا ہے

19اور صِدقیاہ بادشاہ نے یَرمِیاؔہ سے کہا کہ مَیں اُن یہُودِیوں سے ڈرتا ہُوں جو کسدیوں سے جا مِلے ہیں۔ اَیسا نہ ہو کہ وہ مُجھے اُن کے حوالہ کریں اور وہ مُجھ پر طعنہ ماریں۔

20اور یَرمِیاؔہ نے کہا وہ تُجھے حوالہ نہ کریں گے۔ مَیں تیری مِنّت کرتا ہُوں تُو خُداوند کی بات جو مَیں تُجھ سے کہتا ہُوں مان لے۔ اِس سے تیرا بھلا ہو گا اور تیری جان بچ جائے گی۔ 21پر اگر تُو جانے سے اِنکار کرے تو یِہی کلام ہے جو خُداوند نے مُجھ پر ظاہِر کِیا۔ 22کہ دیکھ وہ سب عَورتیں جو شاہِ یہُوداؔہ کے محلّ میں باقی ہیں شاہِ بابل کے اُمرا کے پاس پُہنچائی جائیں گی اور کہیں گی کہ

تیرے دوستوں نے تُجھے فریب دِیا

اور تُجھ پر غالِب آئے۔

جب تیرے پاؤں کِیچ میں دھس گئے

تو وہ اُلٹے پِھر گئے۔

My point of view about above verses

Jeremiah told people that God says whoever stays in this city will die by sword, famine, or plague – but whoever goes to Babylonians will live- they will escape  with their lives – this city will certainly will be given into the hands of king of Babylon – who will capture it

Jeremiah told King Zedekiah that if you surrender yourself into the hands of king of Babylon – your life will be spared, you and your family will live – but if not this city will be given into the hands of Babylon and they will burn it out and you will not escape from them - its decreed by God almighty 

So handover yourself to king of Babylon as if you will do this - your life will be spared as told by God 

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
