 Jeremiah 39, verse 1-7

¹ In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon marched against Jerusalem with his whole army and laid siege to it. ² And on the ninth day of the fourth month of Zedekiah’s eleventh year, the city wall was broken through. ³ Then all the officials of the king of Babylon came and took seats in the Middle Gate: Nergal-Sharezer of Samgar, Nebo-Sarsekim a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officials of the king of Babylon. ⁴ When Zedekiah king of Judah and all the soldiers saw them, they fled; they left the city at night by way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls, and headed toward the Arabah.

⁵ But the Babylonian army pursued them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They captured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he pronounced sentence on him. ⁶ There at Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes and also killed all the nobles of Judah. ⁷ Then he put out Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him with bronze shackles to take him to Babylon.

سقُوطِ یروشلیِم

1شاہِ یہُوداؔہ صِدقیاہ کے نوِیں برس کے دسویں مہِینے میں شاہِ بابل نبُوکدؔرضر اپنی تمام فَوج لے کر یروشلیِم پر چڑھ آیا اور اُس کا مُحاصرہ کِیا۔ 2صِدقیاہ کے گیارھویں برس کے چَوتھے مہِینے کی نوِیں تارِیخ کو شہر کی فصِیل میں رخنہ ہو گیا۔

3اور شاہِ بابل کے سب سردار یعنی نَیرگل سراضر۔ سمگرنبُو۔ سر سکِیم خواجہ سراؤں کا سردار۔ نَیرگل سراضر مجُوسِیوں کا سردار اور شاہِ بابل کے باقی سردار داخِل ہُوئے اور درمِیانی پھاٹک پر بَیٹھے۔

4اور شاہِ یہُوداؔہ صِدقیاہ اور سب جنگی مَرد اُن کو دیکھ کر بھاگے اور دونوں دِیواروں کے درمِیان جو پھاٹک شاہی باغ کے برابر تھا اُس سے وہ رات ہی رات بھاگ نِکلے اور بیابان کی راہ لی۔ 5لیکن کسدیوں کی فَوج نے اُن کا پِیچھا کِیا اور یرِیحُو کے مَیدان میں صِدقیاہ کو جا لِیا اور اُس کو پکڑ کر رِبلہ میں شاہِ بابل نبُوکدؔرضر کے پاس حمات کے علاقہ میں لے گئے اور اُس نے اُس پر فتویٰ دِیا۔ 6اور شاہِ بابل نے صِدقیاہ کے بیٹوں کو رِبلہ میں اُس کی آنکھوں کے سامنے ذبح کِیا اور یہُوداؔہ کے سب شُرفا کو بھی قتل کِیا۔ 7اور اُس نے صِدقیاہ کی آنکھیں نِکال ڈالِیں اور بابل کو لے جانے کے لِئے اُسے زنجِیروں سے جکڑا۔

My point of view about above verses

Jeremiah told people that God says whoever stays in this city will die by sword, famine, or plague – but whoever goes to Babylonians will live- they will escape  with their lives – this city will certainly will be given into the hands of king of Babylon – who will capture it

Nebuchadnezzar after capturing the Jerusalem – slaughter Zedekiah’s sons in front of his eyes and also kicked all nobles of Judah and take out Zedekiah eyes

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
