 Jeremiah 39, verse 8-18

⁸ The Babylonians set fire to the royal palace and the houses of the people and broke down the walls of Jerusalem. ⁹  Nebuchadnezzar commander of the imperial guard carried into exile to Babylon the people who remained in the city, along with those who had gone over to him, and the rest of the people. ¹⁰ But Nebuchadnezzar the commander of the guard left behind in the land of Judah some of the poor people, who owned nothing; and at that time he gave them vineyards and fields.

¹¹ Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had given these orders about Jeremiah through  commander of the imperial guard: ¹² “Take him and look after him; don’t harm him but do for him whatever he asks.” ¹³ So Nebuchadnezzar the commander of the guard, Nebuchadnezzar a chief officer, Nergal-Sharezer a high official and all the other officers of the king of Babylon ¹⁴ sent and had Jeremiah taken out of the courtyard of the guard. They turned him over to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to take him back to his home. So he remained among his own people.

¹⁵ While Jeremiah had been confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the Lord came to him: ¹⁶ “Go and tell Ebed-Melek the Cushite, ‘This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: I am about to fulfill my words against this city—words concerning disaster, not prosperity. At that time they will be fulfilled before your eyes. ¹⁷ But I will rescue you on that day, declares the Lord; you will not be given into the hands of those you fear. ¹⁸ I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the Lord.’”

سقُوطِ یروشلیِم

8اور کسدیوں نے شاہی محلّ کو اور لوگوں کے گھروں کو آگ سے جلا دِیا اور یروشلیِم کی فصِیل کو گِرا دِیا۔ 9اِس کے بعد جلوداروں کا سردار نبُوزراداؔن باقی لوگوں کو جو شہر میں رہ گئے تھے اور اُن کو جو اُس کی طرف ہو کر اُس کے پاس بھاگ آئے تھے یعنی قَوم کے سب باقی لوگوں کو اسِیر کر کے بابل کو لے گیا۔ 10پر قَوم کے مِسکِینوں کو جِن کے پاس کُچھ نہ تھا جلوداروں کے سردار نبُوزراداؔن نے یہُوداؔہ کے مُلک میں رہنے دِیا اور اُسی وقت اُن کو تاکِستان اور کھیت بخشے۔

یَرمِیاہ کی رِہائی

11اور شاہِ بابل نبُوکدؔرضر نے یَرمِیاؔہ کی بابت جلوداروں کے سردار نبُوزراداؔن کو تاکِید کر کے یُوں کہا۔ 12کہ اُسے لے کر اُس پر خُوب نِگاہ رکھ اور اُسے کُچھ دُکھ نہ دے بلکہ تُو اُس سے وُہی کر جو وہ تُجھے کہے۔ 13سو جلوداروں کے سردار نبُوزراداؔن نبُوشزؔبان خواجہ سراؤں کے سردار نَیرگل سراضر مُجوسِیوں کے سردار اور بابل کے سب سرداروں نے آدمی بھیج کر 14یَرمِیاؔہ کو قَید خانہ کے صحن سے نِکلوا لِیا اور جِدلیاؔہ بِن اخِیقاؔم بِن سافن کے سپُرد کِیا کہ اُسے گھر لے جائے۔ سو وہ لوگوں کے ساتھ رہنے لگا۔

عبدملِک کے لِئے اُمّید

15اور جب یَرمِیاؔہ قَید خانہ کے صحن میں بند تھا خُداوند کا یہ کلام اُس پر نازِل ہُؤا۔ 16کہ جا عبدؔملِک کُوشی سے کہہ کہ ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ دیکھ مَیں اپنی باتیں اِس شہر کی بھلائی کے لِئے نہیں بلکہ خرابی کے لِئے پُوری کرُوں گا اور وہ اُس روز تیرے سامنے پُوری ہوں گی۔ 17پر اُس دِن مَیں تُجھے رہائی دُوں گا خُداوند فرماتا ہے اور تُو اُن لوگوں کے حوالہ نہ کِیا جائے گا جِن سے تُو ڈرتا ہے۔ 18کیونکہ مَیں تُجھے ضرُور بچاؤُں گا اور تُو تلوار سے مارا نہ جائے گا بلکہ تیری جان تیرے لِئے غنِیمت ہو گی اِس لِئے کہ تُو نے مُجھ پر توکُّل کِیا خُداوند فرماتا ہے۔

My point of view about above verses

Jeremiah told people that God says whoever stays in this city will die by sword, famine, or plague – but whoever goes to Babylonians will live- they will escape  with their lives – this city will certainly will be given into the hands of king of Babylon – who will capture it

Nebuchadnezzar after capturing the Jerusalem – slaughter Zedekiah’s sons in front of his eyes and also kicked all nobles of Judah and take out Zedekiah eyes

When Jeremiah in courtyard of house of guard – Lord told him tellb Ebed-Melek, the Cushite that you will not be given into the hands of Nebuchadnazer , I will save you– as you trust in me. However I will fulfill my words against this city- concerning disaster and not prosperity

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
