 Jeremiah 44, verse 7-10

Disaster Because of Idolatry

 ⁷ “Now this is what the Lord God Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Why bring such great disaster on yourselves by cutting off from Judah the men and women, the children and infants, and so leave yourselves without a remnant? ⁸ Why arouse my anger with what your hands have made, burning incense to other gods in Egypt, where you have come to live? You will destroy yourselves and make yourselves a curse and an object of reproach among all the nations on earth. ⁹ Have you forgotten the wickedness committed by your ancestors and by the kings and queens of Judah and the wickedness committed by you and your wives in the land of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem? ¹⁰ To this day they have not humbled themselves or shown reverence, nor have they followed my law and the decrees I set before you and your ancestors.

یرمِیاہ 44

خُداوند کا پَیغام مِصرؔ میں اِسرائیلیوں کے نام

7اور اب خُداوند ربُّ الافواج اِسرائیل کا خُدا یُوں فرماتا ہے کہ تُم کیوں اپنی جانوں سے اَیسی بڑی بدی کرتے ہو کہ یہُوداؔہ میں سے مَرد و زن اور طِفل و شِیرخوار کاٹ ڈالے جائیں اور تُمہارا کوئی باقی نہ رہے۔ 8کہ تُم مُلکِ مِصرؔ میں جہاں تُم بسنے کو گئے ہو اپنے اَعمال سے اور غَیر معبُودوں کے آگے بخُور جلا کر مُجھ کو غضب ناک کرتے ہو کہ نیست کِئے جاؤ اور رُویِ زمِین کی سب قَوموں کے درمِیان لَعنت و ملامت کا باعِث بنو؟ 9کیا تُم اپنے باپ دادا کی شرارت اور یہُوداؔہ کے بادشاہوں اور اُن کی بِیویوں کی اور خُود اپنی اور اپنی بِیویوں کی شرارت جو تُم نے یہُوداؔہ کے مُلک میں اور یروشلیِم کے بازاروں میں کی بُھول گئے ہو؟ 10وہ آج کے دِن تک نہ فروتن ہُوئے نہ ڈرے اور میری شرِیعت و آئِین پر جِن کو مَیں نے تُمہارے اور تُمہارے باپ دادا کے سامنے رکھّا نہ چلے۔ 

My point of view about above verses

This word came to Jeremiah concerning Jews living in lower Egypt- You see the disaster I brought on Jerusalem and Judah because of worshipping other gods and burning incense to other gods – therefore my fierce anger was poured out against the towns of Judah and street of Jerusalem and I make the desolate ruins as they are today

God said why bringing such disaster by cutting off  from Judah, why you are arousing my anger by burning incense to other gods in Egypt – you will destroy yourself and make yourselves a curse- an object of reproach among all the nations on earth. You forget the wickedness you committed in Judah and Jerusalem - & to this day you didn't humble yourselves to follow my law and decrees

 May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this word and prophets - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
