Leviticus 20 verse 10-12
Punishments for Sin
10 “‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death
11 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
12 “‘If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
My point of view about above verses
God is telling the importance of relations and relatives in our lives - & how we should behave toward them - God goes so far that he said if someone commits adultery towards other man's wife - both should be put to death and if a son have sexual relation with his fathers's wife , both has to be put to death and if a man has sexual relation with his daughter- in law both has to put to death as both have done an abnormal thing
God told for severe punishments as He wants that the wickedness should eliminate and society should flourish on holiness
If we concentrate we can understand that all such laws are for the benefit of humans - to observe such rules mean live a life worthy to God
He wants us to observe all his commandments - otherwise get ready for punishment -
May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
