Leviticus 21 verse 1-6
Rules for Priests
The Lord said to Moses, “Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: ‘A priest must not make himself ceremonially unclean for any of his people who die, 2 except for a close relative, such as his mother or father, his son or daughter, his brother, 3 or an unmarried sister who is dependent on him since she has no husband—for her he may make himself unclean. 4 He must not make himself unclean for people related to him by marriage, and so defile himself.
5 “‘Priests must not shave their heads or shave off the edges of their beards or cut their bodies. 6 They must be holy to their God and must not profane the name of their God. Because they present the food offerings to the Lord, the food of their God, they are to be holy
My point of view about above verses
God is telling Moses to tell Aaron sons who were priests to keep themselves clean and do not make them unclean for
people who die except for very close relatives like mother, father, his son or daughter or an unmarried sister who is dependent on him - They are presenting food offering to the Lord so they should not defile themselves for their relatives except mentioned above.
They need to take care of their bodies as per law given to Moses and must be respectful towards religious practices. They have to be holy as they are intermediary between God and his people
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do-
If we concentrate on word of God we can understand that all such laws are for the benefit of humans - to observe such rules mean live a life worthy to God and his kingdom
He wants us to observe all his commandments - otherwise get ready for punishment -
May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
