Leviticus 22 verse 4-8
4 “‘If a descendant of Aaron has a defiling skin disease or a bodily discharge, he may not eat the sacred offerings until he is cleansed. He will also be unclean if he touches something defiled by a corpse or by anyone who has an emission of semen, 5 or if he touches any crawling thing that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean, whatever the uncleanness may be. 6 The one who touches any such thing will be unclean till evening. He must not eat any of the sacred offerings unless he has bathed himself with water. 7 When the sun goes down, he will be clean, and after that he may eat the sacred offerings, for they are his food. 8 He must not eat anything found dead or torn by wild animals, and so become unclean through it. I am the Lord.
ہارون کی نسل میں جو کوڑھی یا جریان کا مرِیض ہو وہ جب تک پاک نہ ہو جائے پاک چِیزوں میں سے کُچھ نہ کھائے اور جو کوئی اَیسی چِیز کو جو مُردہ کے سبب سے ناپاک ہو گئی ہے یا اُس شخص کو جِس کی دھات بہتی ہو چُھوئے۔
(5)یا جو کوئی کِسی رینگنے والے جاندار کو جِس کے چُھونے سے وہ ناپاک ہو سکتا ہے چُھوئے یا کِسی اَیسے شخص کو چُھوئے جِس سے اُس کی ناپاکی خواہ وہ کِسی قِسم کی ہو اُس کو بھی لگ سکتی ہو۔
(6)تو وہ آدمی جو اِن میں سے کِسی کو چُھوئے شام تک ناپاک رہے گا اور جب تک پانی سے غُسل نہ کر لے پاک چِیزوں میں سے کُچھ نہ کھائے۔
(7)اور وہ اُس وقت پاک ٹھہرے گا جب آفتاب غرُوب ہو جائے ۔ اِس کے بعد وہ پاک چِیزوں میں سے کھائے کیونکہ یہ اُس کی خُوراک ہے۔
(8)اور مُردار یا درِندہ کے پھاڑے ہُوئے جانور کو کھانے سے وہ اپنے آپ کو نجِس نہ کر لے ۔ مَیں خُداوند ہُوں۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses to tell Aaron (the high priest) and his sons to not eat sacred offerings until he is cleansed from his defiling skin disease - if he touches something unclean or corpse or eat from dead animal or torn animal - he becomes uncleaned - so he should not eat from sacred offerings until he bathe himself with water and when sun sets then he can eat it as it is his food
I am the Lord and tell you to come before me with respect - & you have to be clean also to be in my presence - our God is holy and want us to be holy so God is demanding physical cleanliness here and we should be respectful when in his presence
It seems its not so simple to become a priest - God wants his priests to follow rules and regulation to conduct this duty the way God wants
Priests have been consecrated for a religious purpose - so they must follow the rules
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do-
May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
