Leviticus 22 verse 9 - 13
9 “‘The priests are to perform my service in such a way that they do not become guilty and die for treating it with contempt. I am the Lord, who makes them holy.
10 “‘No one outside a priest’s family may eat the sacred offering, nor may the guest of a priest or his hired worker eat it. 11 But if a priest buys a slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his food. 12 If a priest’s daughter marries anyone other than a priest, she may not eat any of the sacred contributions. 13 But if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or is divorced, yet has no children, and she returns to live in her father’s household as in her youth, she may eat her father’s food. No unauthorized person, however, may eat it.
(9)اِس لِئے وہ میری شرع کو مانیں تا نہ ہو کہ اُس کے سبب سے اُن کے سر گُناہ لگے اور اُس کی بے حُرمتی کرنے کی وجہ سے وہ مَر بھی جائیں ۔ مَیں خُداوند اُن کا مُقدّس کرنے والا ہُوں۔
(10)کوئی اجنبی پاک چِیز کو نہ کھانے پائے خواہ وہ کاہِن ہی کے ہاں ٹھہرا ہو یا اُس کا نوکر ہو تَو بھی وہ کوئی پاک چِیز نہ کھائے۔
(11)لیکن وہ جِسے کاہِن نے اپنے زر سے خریدا ہو اُسے کھا سکتا ہے اور وہ جو اُس کے گھر میں پَیدا ہُوئے ہوں وہ بھی اُس کے کھانے میں سے کھائیں۔
(12)اگر کاہِن کی بیٹی کِسی اجنبی سے بیاہی گئی ہو تو وہ پاک چِیزوں کی قُربانی میں سے کُچھ نہ کھائے۔
(13)پر اگر کاہِن کی بیٹی بیوہ ہو جائے یا مُطلّقہ ہو اور بے اَولاد ہو اور لڑکپن کے دِنوں کی طرح اپنے باپ کے گھر میں پِھر آکر رہے تو وہ اپنے باپ کے کھانے میں سے کھائے لیکن کوئی اجنبی اُسے نہ کھائے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses to tell Aaron (the high priest) and his sons to perform services as per law given to them and handle sacred services with respect so that they should not die - No one outside from priests family can eat sacred offerings- however if a slave bought by priest can eat or if he is born in his house can eat it -
Priest daughter if she does not marry with a priest can't eat it- however if she become divorced or widow and start living in her father house again - can eat it - but no stranger can eat it-
I am the Lord and tell you to come before me with respect - & you have to be clean also to be in my presence - our God is holy and want us to be holy so God is demanding physical cleanliness here and we should be respectful when in his presence
It seems its not so simple to become a priest - God wants his priests to follow rules and regulation to conduct this duty the way God wants
Priests have been consecrated for a religious purpose - so they must follow the rules
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do-
May God inclined us to obey his words to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
