Leviticus 24 verse 17-22

17 “‘Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death. 18 Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution—life for life. 19 Anyone who injures their neighbor is to be injured in the same manner: 20 fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. The one who has inflicted the injury must suffer the same injury. 21 Whoever kills an animal must make restitution, but whoever kills a human being is to be put to death. 22 You are to have the same law for the foreigner and the native-born. I am the Lord your God.’”

My point of view about above verses

Here God is telling that crimes must be punished in accordance to the severity of damage done to other person - God is just and says if an animal is killed unjustly must compensate to the owner of that animal - When he says for human that an eye for an eye - it does not mean that one take out the eye of other person who committed the crime but rather limiting the compensation according to the damage as human nature is either too much lenient or too much severe

God gave the importance to human life over animal life as for animal life there is compensation but for human life its not the case - the person should be killed who took the life of other person - Law is same for foreigner and native-born

God is aware of our nature so by giving severe punishments - he wants to take evil out of our lives

We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run

May God give us wisdom to understand and obey word of God to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -

May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
