Leviticus 25 verse 1-7
The Sabbath Year
The Lord said to Moses at Mount Sinai, 2 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter the land I am going to give you, the land itself must observe a Sabbath to the Lord. 3 For six years sow your fields, and for six years prune your vineyards and gather their crops. 4 But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of Sabbath rest, a Sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards. 5 Do not reap what grows of itself or harvest the grapes of your untended vines. The land is to have a year of rest. 6 Whatever the land yields during the Sabbath year will be food for you—for yourself, your male and female servants, and the hired worker and temporary resident who live among you, 7 as well as for your livestock and the wild animals in your land. Whatever the land produces may be eaten.
1 رب نے سینا پہاڑ پر موسیٰ سے کہا،
2 ”اسرائیلیوں کو بتانا کہ جب تم اُس ملک میں داخل ہو گے جو مَیں تمہیں دوں گا تو لازم ہے کہ رب کی تعظیم میں زمین ایک سال آرام کرے۔
3 چھ سال کے دوران اپنے کھیتوں میں بیج بونا، اپنے انگور کے باغوں کی کانٹ چھانٹ کرنا اور اُن کی فصلیں جمع کرنا۔
4 لیکن ساتواں سال زمین کے لئے آرام کا سال ہے، رب کی تعظیم میں سبت کا سال۔ اُس سال نہ اپنے کھیتوں میں بیج بونا، نہ اپنے انگور کے باغوں کی کانٹ چھانٹ کرنا۔
5 جو اناج خود بخود اُگتا ہے اُس کی کٹائی نہ کرنا اور جو انگور اُس سال لگتے ہیں اُن کو توڑ کر جمع نہ کرنا، کیونکہ زمین کو ایک سال کے لئے آرام کرنا ہے۔
6 البتہ جو بھی یہ زمین آرام کے سال میں پیدا کرے گی اُس سے تم اپنی روزانہ کی ضروریات پوری کر سکتے ہو یعنی تُو، تیرے غلام اور لونڈیاں، تیرے مزدور، تیرے غیرشہری، تیرے ساتھ رہنے والے پردیسی،
7 تیرے مویشی اور تیری زمین پر رہنے والے جنگلی جانور۔ جو کچھ بھی یہ زمین پیدا کرتی ہے وہ کھایا جا سکتا ہے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses to tell Israelite that they need to observe 7th year as Sabbath of the land - It means to remind them that land also belongs to God - and also to keep trusting the Lord as He will provide food in 7th year as he provided them in wilderness
7th year will be the year of rest for lands - they are not permitted to sow and harvest their lands on that year - however what ever land produces itself - they can consume it
If we do not obey his commandments - He knows how to create situations in our lives that land can enjoy its Sabbath rest
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
May God give us wisdom to understand and obey word of God to lead our lives the way God wants us to live on this earth -
May God bless all those who are obeying His commandments
