Leviticus 25 verse 13-17
The Year of Jubilee
13 “‘In this Year of Jubilee everyone is to return to their own property.
14 “‘If you sell land to any of your own people or buy land from them, do not take advantage of each other. 15 You are to buy from your own people on the basis of the number of years since the Jubilee. And they are to sell to you on the basis of the number of years left for harvesting crops. 16 When the years are many, you are to increase the price, and when the years are few, you are to decrease the price, because what is really being sold to you is the number of crops. 17 Do not take advantage of each other, but fear your God. I am the Lord your God.
14 چنانچہ جب کبھی تم اپنے کسی ہم وطن بھائی کو زمین بیچتے یا اُس سے خریدتے ہو تو اُس سے ناجائز فائدہ نہ اُٹھانا۔
15 زمین کی قیمت اِس حساب سے مقرر کی جائے کہ وہ اگلے بحالی کے سال تک کتنے سال فصلیں پیدا کرے گی۔
16 اگر بہت سال رہ گئے ہوں تو اُس کی قیمت زیادہ ہو گی، اور اگر کم سال رہ گئے ہوں تو اُس کی قیمت کم ہو گی۔ کیونکہ اُن فصلوں کی تعداد بِک رہی ہے جو زمین اگلے بحالی کے سال تک پیدا کر سکتی ہے۔
17 اپنے ہم وطن سے ناجائز فائدہ نہ اُٹھانا بلکہ رب اپنے خدا کا خوف ماننا، کیونکہ مَیں رب تمہارا خدا ہوں۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that in year of Jubilee - land has to returned to its real owner - debts has to be cancelled, slaves has to relieved - what a relief for a poor Israelite
In fact God distributed land to 12 tribes of Israelite and want that every 50th years its been possessed by the respective tribe. God told them how to buy or sell land between them during 49- years - It should be sold according to the no. of yields to be produced - if no of years are less to reach to the Jubilee year - then its price should be less - if more its price should be more
God clearly told that do not take advantage / undue gain of your brethren and fear from me as I am your God- the provider of each and everything
We should do our dealings as per word of God and he is there to take care of us - He is the Lord of our life and provider of everything
God is merciful and all wise Lord - He knows how to deal mankind to get best out of them for themselves and for others
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
