Leviticus 26 verse 18-22
Punishment for Disobedience
18 “‘If after all this you will not listen to me, I will punish you for your sins seven times over. 19 I will break down your stubborn pride and make the sky above you like iron and the ground beneath you like bronze. 20 Your strength will be spent in vain, because your soil will not yield its crops, nor will the trees of your land yield their fruit.
21 “‘If you remain hostile toward me and refuse to listen to me, I will multiply your afflictions seven times over, as your sins deserve. 22 I will send wild animals against you, and they will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle and make you so few in number that your roads will be deserted.
(18)اور اگر اِتنی باتوں پر بھی تُم میری نہ سُنو تو مَیں تُمہارے گُناہوں کے باعِث تُم کو سات گُنی سزا اَور دُوں گا۔
(19)اور مَیں تُمہاری شہزوری کے فخر کو توڑ ڈالُوں گا اور تُمہارے لِئے آسمان کو لوہے کی طرح اور زمِین کو پِیتل کی مانِند کر دُوں گا۔
(20)اور تُمہاری قُوّ ت بے فائِدہ صرف ہو گی کیونکہ تُمہاری زمِین سے کُچھ پَیدا نہ ہو گا اور مَیدان کے درخت پھلنے ہی کے نہیں۔
(21)اور اگر تُمہارا چلن میرے خِلاف ہی رہے اور تُم میرا کہا نہ مانو تو مَیں تُمہارے گُناہوں کے مُوافِق تُمہارے اُوپر اَور سات گُنی بلائیں لاؤُں گا۔
(22)جنگلی درِندے تُمہارے درمِیان چھوڑ دُوں گا جو تُم کو بے اَولاد کر دیں گے اور تُمہارے چَوپایوں کو نیست کریں گے اور تُمہارا شُمار گھٹا دیں گے اور تُمہاری سڑکیں سُونی پڑ جائیں گی۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that if they will not obey him and not live as per the law they will be punished - As there are rewards for obedience - there is punishment for dis-obedience also - & it is 7-times more than the sins committed - Disobedience is because of pride - so God says i will break your pride & whatever you will do - you will not get the fruit of your labor- Sky and earth will be hard like iron and bronze. If you continue to dis- obey me your diseases will increase 7-times- Your children will be taken by wild beasts and your roads will become desert - You will see few people around you -
God will give these punishments if we will not obey Him - so lets obey Him to live a prosperous earthly life
Look How God punishes when people did not follow Him or obey him
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
