Leviticus 27 verse 14 - 15
Redeeming What Is the Lord’s
14 “‘If anyone dedicates their house as something holy to the Lord, the priest will judge its quality as good or bad. Whatever value the priest then sets, so it will remain. 15 If the one who dedicates their house wishes to redeem it, they must add a fifth to its value, and the house will again become theirs.
(14)اور اگر کوئی اپنے گھر کو مُقدّس قرار دے تاکہ وہ خُداوند کے لِئے پاک ہو تو خواہ وہ اچھّا ہو یا بُرا کاہِن اُس کی قِیمت ٹھہرائے اور جو کُچھ وہ ٹھہرائے وُہی اُس کی قِیمت رہے گی۔
(15)اور جِس نے اُس گھر کو مُقدّس قرار دِیا ہے اگر وہ چاہے کہ گھر کا فِدیہ دے کر اُسے چُھڑائے تو تیری ٹھہرائی ہُوئی قِیمت میں اُس کا پانچواں حِصّہ اَور مِلا کر دے ۔ تب وہ گھر اُسی کا رہے گا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Israelite that if someone vow to give his house to the God by his own free will - as giving something to God by Vow is not a command but a free will of a person - For instance a person vows that he dedicates his house to the God to be holy - and if he is still using it then the priest has to determine the value of the house and owner has to put 1/5th of that value into the value determined by the priest to redeem the house. So God has set a value to redeem the house dedicated to God by a vow
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
We need to live in this world as God wants us to live - we have to do what he is telling us to do- as it is in our advantage in the long run
