Numbers ; verse 1- 16
The Census
The Lord spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: 2 “Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. 3 You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army. 4 One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you. 5 These are the names of the men who are to assist you:
from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur; 6 from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;7 from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab; 8 from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;9 from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon; 10 from the sons of Joseph:from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud;from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
11 from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni; 12 from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai; 13 from Asher, Pagiel son of Okran; 14 from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel; 15 from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.”
16 These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders of their ancestral tribes. They were the heads of the clans of Israel
1)بنی اِسرائیل کے مُلکِ مِصر سے نِکل آنے کے دُوسرے برس کے دُوسرے مہِینے کی پہلی تارِیخ کو سِینا کے بیابان میں خُداوند نے خَیمۂِ اِجتماع میں مُوسیٰ سے کہا کہ۔
(2)تُم ایک ایک مَرد کا نام لے لے کر گِنو اور اُن کے ناموں کی تعداد سے بنی اِسرائیل کی ساری جماعت کی مَردُم شُماری کا حِساب اُن کے قبِیلوں اور آبائی خاندانوں کے مُطابِق کرو۔
(3)بِیس برس اور اُس سے اُوپر اُوپر کی عُمر کے جِتنے اِسرائیلی جنگ کرنے کے قابِل ہوں اُن سبھوں کے الگ الگ دَلوں کو تُو اور ہارُو ن دونوں مِل کر گِن ڈالو۔
(4)اور ہر قبِیلہ سے ایک ایک آدمی جو اپنے آبائی خاندان کا سردار ہے تُمہارے ساتھ ہو۔
(5)اور جو آدمی تُمہارے ساتھ ہوں گے اُن کے نام یہ ہیں رُوبِن کے قبِیلہ سے الِیصُور بِن شدِیُور۔
(6)شمعُو ن کے قبِیلہ سے سلُومی ایل بِن صُور ی شدّی۔
(7)یہُوداہ کے قبِیلہ سے نحسو ن بِن عمِّینداب۔
(8)اِشکار کے قبِیلہ سے نتنی ایل بِن ضُغر۔
(9)زبُولُون کے قبِیلہ سے الِیا ب بِن حیلو ن۔
(10)یُوسف کی نسل میں سے افرائِیم کے قبِیلہ کا الِیسمع بِن عمِّیہُود اور منسّی کے قبِیلہ کا جملی ایل بِن فداہصُور۔
(11)بِنیمِین کے قبِیلہ سے ابِدان بِن جِدعُونی۔
(12)دان کے قبِیلہ سے اخیعزر بِن عمِّیشدّ ی۔
(13)آشر کے قبِیلہ سے فجعی ایل بِن عکران۔
(14)جد کے قبِیلہ سے اِلیاسف بِن دعُوایل۔
(15)نفتالی کے قبِیلہ سے اخِیر ع بِن عینا ن۔
(16)یِہی اشخاص جو اپنے آبائی قبِیلوں کے رئِیس اور بنی اِسرائیل میں ہزاروں کے سردار تھے جماعت میں سے بُلائے گئے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses in Mount Sinai after one year of their exodus / departure from Egypt to count all Israelite by tribes - He told him and Aaron to count all men of 20 years and above - they are those who able to go war - he also told the names of head of the families from each tribe who will assist Moses for this census / work
Census is taken for 12 tribes - two tribes are from Joseph clan and tribe of Levi is excluded as they are selected to work for tabernacle
God tells them that how to organize to achieve the goals
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
