Numbers 3 ; verse 11 - 16
11 The Lord also said to Moses, 12 “I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine, 13 for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord.”
14 The Lord said to Moses in the Desert of Sinai, 15 “Count the Levites by their families and clans. Count every male a month old or more.” 16 So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the Lord.
(11)اور خُداوند نے مُوسیٰ سے کہا کہ۔
(12)دیکھ مَیں نے بنی اِسرائیل میں سے لاوِیوں کو اُن سبھوں کے بدلے لے لِیا ہے جو اِسرائیلیوں میں پہلوٹھی کے بچّے ہیں ۔ سو لاوی میرے ہوں۔
(13)کیونکہ سب پہلوٹھے میرے ہیں اِس لِئے کہ جِس دِن مَیں نے مُلکِ مِصر میں سب پہلوٹھوں کو مارا اُسی دِن مَیں نے بنی اِسرائیل کے سب پہلوٹھوں کو کیا اِنسان اور کیا حَیوان اپنے لِئے مُقدّس کِیا سو وہ ضرُور میرے ہوں ۔ مَیں خُداوند ہُوں۔
(14)پِھر خُداوند نے دشتِ سِینا میں مُوسیٰ سے کہا۔
(15)بنی لاوی کو اُن کے آبائی خاندانوں اور گھرانوں کے مُطابِق شُمار کر یعنی ایک مہِینے اور اُس سے اُوپر اُوپر کے ہر لڑکے کو گِننا۔
(16)چُنانچہ مُوسیٰ نے خُداوند کے حُکم کے مُطابِق جو اُس نے اُسے دِیا اُن کو گِنا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses that Levites belongs to Him in place of firstborn child of Israelite- all first born child whether of animal or humans are of God -God does not want human sacrifice as first born of animals, so for humans - its been redeemed by tribe of Levites- God struck all first born of Egyptians when he brought Israelite from Egypt to Canaan so He said all Levities are belongs to Him and ordered Moses to count all Levites males a month old and above
Let God give us wisdom to understand his word and apply it in our lives
