Numbers 23 ; verse 3-12
Then Balaam said to Balak, “Stay here beside your offering while I go aside. Perhaps the Lord will come to meet with me. Whatever he reveals to me I will tell you.” Then he went off to a barren height. 4 God met with him, and Balaam said, “I have prepared seven altars, and on each altar I have offered a bull and a ram.”
5 The Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth and said, “Go back to Balak and give him this word.” 6 So he went back to him and found him standing beside his offering, with all the Moabite officials. 7 Then Balaam spoke his message:
God put following words in Balaam’s mouth for Balak
“Balak brought me from Aram,
the king of Moab from the eastern mountains. ‘Come,’ he said, ‘curse Jacob for me; come, denounce Israel.’
8 How can I curse
those whom God has not cursed?How can I denounce
those whom the Lord has not denounced? 9 From the rocky peaks I see them,
from the heights I view them.I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations. 10 Who can count the dust of Jacob or number even a fourth of Israel?
Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my final end be like theirs!”
11 Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me? I brought you to curse my enemies, but you have done nothing but bless them!”
12 He answered, “Must I not speak what the Lord puts in my mouth?”
تب بلعام نے بلق سے کہا ، “اُس قربان گاہ کے نزدیک ٹھہرو۔ میں دُوسری جگہ جاتا ہوں ہوسکتا ہے خدا وند وہاں آئے اور مجھے اطلاع دے کہ مجھے کیا کہنا چاہئے تب میں تجھے بتاؤنگا۔” تب بلعام ایک اُونچی جگہ پر گیا۔
4 خدا اُس جگہ پر بلعام کے پاس آیا اور بلعام نے کہا ، “میں نے سات قربان گاہیں تیّار کیں اور میں نے ہر ایک قربان گاہ پر ایک بیل اور ایک مینڈھے کی قربانی پیش کی۔”
5 تب خدا وند نے بلعام کو وہ بتایا جو اُسے کہنا چاہئے۔ تب خدا وند نے کہا ، “بلق کے پاس جاؤ اور اُن باتوں کو کہو جو میں نے کہنے کے لئے بتائی ہیں۔”
6 اِس لئے بلعام بلق کے پاس واپس آیا۔ بلق جب قربان گاہ کے پاس کھڑا تھا اور موآب کے تمام قائدین اُس کے ساتھ کھڑے تھے۔ 7 تب بلعام نے اپنا پیغام سنایا :
موآب کے بادشاہ بلق نے
مجھے ارام(سیریا) سے بُلایا۔
مشرق کی پہاڑ سے بلق نے مجھ سے کہا ،
“آؤ اور میرے لئے یعقوب کے خلاف کہو۔
آؤ اور بنی اسرائیلیوں کے خلاف کہو۔”
8 خدا اُن کے خلاف نہیں ہے
میں بھی ان کے خلاف نہیں کہہ سکتا
خدا وند نے انکا برا ہونے کے لئے نہیں کہا ہے
میں بھی ویسا نہیں کر سکتا۔
9 میں اُن لوگوں کو پہاڑ پر سے دیکھتا ہوں۔
میں ایسے لوگوں کو دیکھتا ہوں
جو اکیلے رہتے ہیں۔
وہ لوگ اپنے آپ کو قوموں کے حصّہ نہیں مانتے ہیں۔
10 یعقوب کے لوگوں کو کون گِن سکتا ہے۔
وہ دھول کے ذراّت سے بھی زیادہ ہیں۔
بنی اسرائیلیوں کی چوتھائی کو بھی کوئی گِن نہیں سکتا۔
مجھے ایک اچھے آدمی کی طرح مرنے دو۔
میرا خاتمہ ان کی طرح ہونے دو۔
11 بلق نے بلعام سے کہا ، “تم نے ہمارے لئے کیا کیا ہے ؟میں نے تم کو اپنے دشمنوں پر لعنت کرنے کے لئے بُلایا تھا لیکن اس کے بجائے تم نے انہیں دعا دی۔”
12 لیکن بلعام نے جواب دیا ، “مجھے وہی کہنا چاہئے جو خدا وند مجھ سے کہلوانا چاہتا ہے۔”
My point of view about above verses
God asked Balaam (a non -Israelite prophet) who are these men with you - He told they are sent by king of Moab to curse Israelites
God told Balaam, don’t curse Israelites as they are blessed people and told him to do only what God will tell him to do or say
So God put his words in Balaam mouth to bless Israelites
Not only the kingdom of worlds are in God hands but all the people and He can use anything as He wants to - as He is the creator - Let ask God to be merciful - Let ask Him to guide us in all spheres of our lives - so that we only say and do what he wants us to do
Let God give us wisdom to understand His word and help us to apply it in our lives
