Deuteronomy 27 ; verse 11-18
Curses From Mount Ebal
11 On the same day Moses commanded the people:
12 When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin. 13 And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
14 The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:
15 “Cursed is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
16 “Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
17 “Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
18 “Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
1 اسی دن موسیٰ نے لوگوں سے کہا ، 12 “جب تم دریا ئے یردن کے پا ر جا ؤگے اس کے بعد یہ خاندانی گروہ گرزیم پہا ڑ پر کھڑے ہو کر لوگوں کو دعا ئیں دیں گے۔ شمعون ، لا وی ، یہوداہ ، اشکار ، یوسف اور بنیمین۔ 13 اور یہ خاندانی گروہ عیبال پہا ڑ سے بد دُعا دیں گے : رُوبن ،جا د ، آشر ، زبولون ، دان اور نفتا لی۔
14 “اور لا وی نسل کے لوگ سبھی بنی اسرا ئیلیوں سے تیز آواز میں کہیں گے :
15 ’اس شخص پر لعنت ہے جو جھو ٹے خداوند کی مورت بنا تا ہے اور اسے اپنی پوشیدہ جگہ میں رکھتا ہے۔ جھو ٹے خداوند صرف وہ مورتیاں ہیں جسے کو ئی کاریگر لکڑی پتھر یا دھات سے بنا تا ہے۔ خداوند ان چیزوں سے نفرت کرتا ہے۔‘
“پھر سب لوگ جواب میں’ آمین!‘ کہیں گے۔
16 “لاوی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے، ’اس آدمی پر لعنت ہے جو ایسا کام کرتا ہے جس سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ وہ اپنے ماں باپ کی بے عزتی کرتا ہے ،
“تمام لوگ جواب میں ’ آمین ! ‘کہیں گے۔
17 “لاوی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے ،’اس آدمی پر لعنت ہے جو اپنے پڑوسی کی حد کے نشان کو ہٹا تا ہے ‘
“تب سبھی لوگ کہیں گے ’ آمین!‘
18 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے اس آدمی پر لعنت ہے جو اندھے کو راستے سے گمراہ کرے ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے، ’آمین ! ‘
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God says curse all those who worship idols, who dishonor their father and mother, who remove the boundry stones of theit neighbours and who cause blind person to stumble
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
