Deuteronomy 27 ; verse 19-26
Curses From Mount Ebal
19 “Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
20 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
21 “Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
22 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
23 “Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
24 “Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
25 “Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
26 “Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.”
Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
19 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس شخص پر جو پردیسی اور یتیم اور بیوہ کے ساتھ انصاف نہیں کرتا ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے، ’آمین !‘
20 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس آدمی پر جو اپنے باپ کی بیوی سے مباشرت کرے کیوں؟ کیوں کہ وہ اپنے باپ کو شرمندہ کرتا ہے ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے، ’آمین !‘
21 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس آدمی پر جو کسی طرح کے جانور کے ساتھ مباشرت کرتا ہے۔
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے “آمین !”
22 لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے اس آدمی پر لعنت ہے جو بہن یا اپنی سوتیلی بہن کے ساتھ مباشرت کرے ! ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے، ’آمین !‘
23 “لاوی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس آدمی پر جو اپنی سا س کے ساتھ مباشرت کرے،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے ، ’آمین !‘
24 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس شخص پر جو دوسرے شخص کو پو شیدہ طور سے قتل کرے ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے ، ’آمین !‘
25 “لا وی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے لعنت ہے اس شخص پر جو بے قصورکی قتل کرنے کے لئے رشوت لیتا ہے ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں، ’آمین !‘
26 “لاوی نسل کے لوگ کہیں گے اس شخص پر لعنت ہے جو ان شریعتوں کی حمایت نہیں کرتا اور ان پر عمل نہیں کرتا ،
“اور سب لوگ کہیں گے ، ’آمین !‘
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God says curse all those who do not maintain justice, sleep with his father's wife, his sister, his mother -in law, kills his neighbour, takes bribe and anyone do not observer the law/ commandments given by God and all people should say Amen
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
