Deuteronomy 28 ; verse 30-35
Curses for Disobedience
30 You will be pledged to be married to a woman, but another will take her and rape her. You will build a house, but you will not live in it. You will plant a vineyard, but you will not even begin to enjoy its fruit. 31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will eat none of it. Your donkey will be forcibly taken from you and will not be returned. Your sheep will be given to your enemies, and no one will rescue them. 32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another nation, and you will wear out your eyes watching for them day after day, powerless to lift a hand. 33 A people that you do not know will eat what your land and labor produce, and you will have nothing but cruel oppression all your days. 34 The sights you see will drive you mad. 35 The Lord will afflict your knees and legs with painful boils that cannot be cured, spreading from the soles of your feet to the top of your head.
30 “تمہا ری شادی کسی عور ت کے ساتھ پکی ہو گی لیکن دوسرا آدمی اس کے ساتھ سو ئے گا۔ تم کو ئی گھر بنا ؤ گے لیکن تم اس میں نہیں رہ پا ؤ گے تم انگور کا باغ لگا ؤ گے لیکن اس سے کچھ بھی حاصل نہیں کر پا ؤ گے۔ 31 تمہا ری گائیں تمہا رے سامنے ما ری جا ئیں گی لیکن تم اس کا کچھ بھی گوشت نہیں کھا پا ؤ گے۔ تمہا رے گدھے تم سے بالجبر چھین لئے جا ئیں گے۔ یہ تمہیں واپس نہیں کئے جا ئیں گے۔ تمہا ری بھیڑیں تمہا رے دشمنوں کو دے دی جا ئیں گی۔ تمہا را محافظ کو ئی آدمی نہیں ہو گا۔
32 “تمہا رے بیٹے اور تمہا ری بیٹیاں غیر ملکیوں کو دے دی جا ئیں گی تمہا ری آنکھیں سارادن بچوں کو دیکھنے کے لئے ٹکٹکی لگا ئے رہیں گی تم بچوں کو دیکھنا چا ہو گے لیکن تم انتظا ر کرتے کرتے کمزور ہو جا ؤگے اور تمہا ری آنکھیں اندھی ہو جا ئیں گی تمہا را حوصلہ پست ہو جا ئیگا۔
33 “وہ قوم جسے تم نہیں جانتے تمہا رے پسینے کی ساری کمائی اور ساری فصل کھا ئے گی۔ تم ہمیشہ پریشان رہو گے۔ لوگ تم سے بُرا برتاؤ کریں گے اور تم کو گالی دیں گے۔ 34 “تمہا ری آنکھیں ایسا نظارہ دیکھیں گی جس سے تم پاگل ہو جا ؤگے۔ 35 خداوند تمہیں درد ہو نے و الے پھوڑوں کی سزا دے گا۔ یہ پھو ڑے تمہا رے گھٹنوں اور پیروں پر ہوں گے وہ تمہا رے پیر سے لے کر سر کے اوپر تک پھیل جا ئیں گے اور تمہا رے پھو ڑے نہیں بھریں گے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God told about curses if you do not obey your Lord – your wife will be raped by another man, someone else will live in the house you built, you will not eat fruit for your own vinyard, your livestocks will be taken from you and given to your enemies, your sons and daughters will be given to another nation and your eyes will wear out because of waiting for them, you will become sick with painful diseases
How terrible it is for mankind to stand against God, their days and nights will be cursed and everything will be cursed what they are doing
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
