Deuteronomy 28 ; verse 58-63
Curses for Disobedience
58 If you do not carefully follow all the words of this law, which are written in this book, and do not revere this glorious and awesome name—the Lord your God— 59 the Lord will send fearful plagues on you and your descendants, harsh and prolonged disasters, and severe and lingering illnesses. 60 He will bring on you all the diseases of Egypt that you dreaded, and they will cling to you. 61 The Lord will also bring on you every kind of sickness and disaster not recorded in this Book of the Law, until you are destroyed. 62 You who were as numerous as the stars in the sky will be left but few in number, because you did not obey the Lord your God. 63 Just as it pleased the Lord to make you prosper and increase in number, so it will please him to ruin and destroy you. You will be uprooted from the land you are entering to possess.
58 “اس کتاب میں جتنے احکام اور شریعت لکھے گئے ہیں ان سب کی تعمیل تمہیں کرنی چا ہئے۔ اور تمہیں خداوند اپنے خدا کی عزت کرنی چا ہئے جسکا نام تعجب خیز اور مہیب ہے۔ اگر تم اس کی تعمیل نہیں کرتے ہو تو ، 59 خداوند تمہیں بھیانک آفتوں میں ڈالے گا اور تمہا ری نسلیں بڑی پریشانیاں اٹھا ئیں گی۔ اور انہیں بھیانک بیماریاں ہو ں گی جو لمبے عرصے تک رہیں گی۔ 60 اور خداوند مصر سے وہ سبھی بیماریاں لا ئے گا جن سے تم ڈرتے ہو۔ یہ بیماریاں تم لوگوں میں رہیں گی۔ 61 خداوند ان بیماریوں اور پریشانوں کو بھی تمہا رے درمیان لا ئے گا جو اس تعلیمات کی کتاب میں نہیں لکھا ہے۔ وہ اسے اس وقت تک کرتا رہے گا جب تک تم تباہ نہیں ہو جا تے۔ 62 تم اتنے زیادہ ہو سکتے ہو جتنے آسمان میں تا رے ہو ں لیکن تم میں سے کچھ ہی بچے رہیں گے تمہا رے ساتھ یہ کیوں ہو گا ؟ کیوں کہ تم نے خداوند اپنے خدا کی بات نہیں مانی۔ 3 “پہلے خداوند تمہا رے بھلا ئی کرنے اور تمہا ری قوم کو بڑھانے میں خوش تھا۔ اسی طرح خداوند تمہیں تباہ اور برباد کرنے میں خوش ہو گا۔ تم اس ملک سے باہر لا ئے جا ؤ گے جسے تم اپنا بنا نے کے لئے اس میں داخل ہو رہے ہو۔
My point of view about above verses
God told when you entered the land I promised to give you and have crossed Jordan – set up some large stones on Mount Ebal and coat them with plaster and write on them all the words of this law –
God want us that His laws and decrees which He gave should be before our eyes all the time so that we are inclined to implement to live a happy and joyful life
Following blessings and curses has to be pronounced from Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal respectively – by Israelites tribes
God told about curses if you do not obey your Lord – then you will be destroyed by plaques, diseases and disasters - you will have all sickness which i send on Egyptians when i took you out of their land to possess land, as i was eager to give you this land- I will be eager to throw you out of this land if you will not obey my laws and decrees
How terrible it is for mankind to stand against God, their days and nights will be cursed and everything will be cursed whatever they are doing
As people of God we have to be resposible for our actions - if we obey His commandments, there are blessings for us - otherwise curses
Our God wants us to spend a joyful life on earth, only we need to follow what He says and believe me there is happiness around us - Righteous acts brings happiness for us - Lets do and enjoy life
-These are the orders given by God for our ultimate good and we all have to follow
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
