Deuteronomy 29 ; verse 19-21
Renewal of the Covenant
19 When such a person hears the words of this oath and they invoke a blessing on themselves, thinking, “I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way,” they will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry. 20 The Lord will never be willing to forgive them; his wrath and zeal will burn against them. All the curses written in this book will fall on them, and the Lord will blot out their names from under heaven. 21 The Lord will single them out from all the tribes of Israel for disaster, according to all the curses of the covenant written in this Book of the Law.
19 “کو ئی شخص اُن بد دُعاؤں کو سُن سکتا ہے اور اپنے کو مطمئن کرتا ہوا کہہ سکتا ہے ، “میں جو چاہتا ہو ں وہ کروں گا میرا کچھ بھی بُرا نہیں ہو گا۔ وہ شخص صرف اپنے لئے ہی بُرا ہو نے کا سبب نہیں بنے گا بلکہ دوسرے اچھے لوگوں کے لئے بھی بُرا ہو نے کا سبب بنے گا۔ 20-21 “خداوند اس آدمی کو معاف نہیں کرے گا خداوند اس آدمی پر غصّہ کرے گا اور زلزلہ اٹھے گا۔ اس کتاب میں لکھی سبھی بد دُعائیں اس پر پڑیں گی۔ خداوند انہیں اسرائیل کے سبھی خاندانی گروہ سے الگ کردے گا۔ خداوند اس کو پو ری طرح تباہ کردے گا۔ سبھی آفتیں جو اِس کتاب میں لکھی گئی ہیں اُس پر آئیں گی۔ وہ سبھی باتیں اُس معاہدہ کا جُز ہیں جو اس تعلیمات کی کتاب میں لکھی گئی ہیں۔
My point of view about above verses
God enters into a covenant with Israelites and foreigners living in your camps as He swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – this covenant is not only with those who are present here but with future generations also
God renewed the contract with Isralites when he gave the land as he promised with Abraham that this land will belong to your generations - if you follow the terms of the contract you will prosper
If a person from Israelites hears the words of this oath & think that he is safe and conduct his own way – then all written curses will fall on him. As well as on others, who did not stop him - God will blot out their names from under heaven
Our God is God who fulfills His promises even with our generations to follow, so lets teach our children to live as God wants us to live as ultimately its for our benefit
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
