Deuteronomy 31 ; verse 7-14
Joshua to Succeed Moses
7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance. 8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Public Reading of the Law
9 So Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the Levitical priests, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Then Moses commanded them: “At the end of every seven years, in the year for canceling debts, during the Festival of Tabernacles, 11 when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose, you shall read this law before them in their hearing. 12 Assemble the people—men, women and children, and the foreigners residing in your towns—so they can listen and learn to fear the Lord your God and follow carefully all the words of this law. 13 Their children, who do not know this law, must hear it and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.”
Israel’s Rebellion Predicted
14 The Lord said to Moses, “Now the day of your death is near. Call Joshua and present yourselves at the tent of meeting, where I will commission him.” So Moses and Joshua came and presented themselves at the tent of meeting.
7 تب موسیٰ نے یشوع کو بُلا یا۔ جس وقت موسیٰ یشوع سے باتیں کر رہا تھا اس وقت سبھی بنی اسرا ئیل دیکھ رہے تھے۔ “جب موسیٰ نے یشوع سے کہا طا قتور اوربہا در بنو تم ان لوگوں کو اس ملک سے لے جا ؤ گے جسے خداوند نے ان کے آ باء و اجداد کو دینے کا وعدہ کیا تھا۔ تم بنی اسرا ئیلیوں کی مدد اس ملک کو لینے اور اپنا بنا نے میں کرو گے۔ 8 خداوند آگے چلے گا وہ یقیناً تمہا رے ساتھ ہے وہ نہ تمہیں مدد دینا بند کرے گا نہ ہی تمہیں چھو ڑے گا تم نہ ہی خوفزدہ نہ ہی فکرمند رہو۔
موسیٰ کا تعلیمات کو لکھنا
تب موسیٰ نے ا ن تعلیمات کو لکھا اور لا وی نسل کے کاہنوں کو دے دیا۔ اُن کا کام خداوند کے صندوق کو لے چلنا تھا۔ موسیٰ نے اسرا ئیل کے تمام قائدین کو یہ بھی دیئے۔ 10 تب موسیٰ نے قائدین کو حکم دیا اور کہا ، “ہر سات سال کے آخر میں قرض منسوخ کر دینے کے سال میں اس شریعت کی کتاب کو پناہ کی تقریب میں پڑھو۔ 11 اس وقت سبھی بنی اسرا ئیل خداوند اپنے خدا سے ملنے اس خاص جگہ پر آئیں گے جسے وہ چنے گا تا کہ وہ اسے سُن سکیں۔ 12 تمام لوگ مردوں عورتوں چھوٹے بچوں اور اپنے شہروں میں رہنے وا لے تمام غیر ملکیوں کو جمع کرو وہ اُصول کو سُنیں گے اور خداوند تمہا رے خدا کی عزّت کرنا سیکھیں گے اور وہ اُس اُصول اور احکام کی تعمیل میں پابند رہیں گے۔ 13 اور تب اُن کی نسل جو تعلیمات کو نہیں جانتے اُسے سُنیں گے اور خداوندتمہا رے خدا کی عزّت کرنا سیکھیں گے۔ وہ اُس وقت تک خداوند کی عزّت کریں گے جب تک وہ اس ملک میں رہیں گے ، جسے تم دریا ئے یردن کے اُس پار لینے کے لئے تیار رہو۔”
خداوند کا موسیٰ اور یشوع کو بُلانا
14 خداوند نے موسیٰ سے کہا ، “اب تمہا رے مرنے کا وقت قریب ہے یشوع کو لو اور خیمہ اجتماع میں جا ؤ میں یشوع کو بتا ؤں گا کہ وہ کیا کرے۔ ” اس لئے موسیٰ اور یشوع خیمٴہ اجتماع میں گئے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses you shall not cross the Jordan – Joshua will lead Israelites
Lord told Moses as now the day of your death is near so call Joshua and yourself in tent of meeting so that I can commission him
Our God changes the leaders - we have to follow what He asks us to do
Our God is God who ask us to obey Him and in turn get His blessings otherwise disaster for us
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
