Deuteronomy Chapter 34 Verse 1-4
The Death of Moses
Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the Lord showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. 4 Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.”
موسیٰ کی وفات
34 موسیٰ موآب کی نچلی زمین سے نبو پہا ڑ پر گئے جو یریحو کے پا رپسگہ کی چوٹی پر تھا۔ خداوند نے اسے جِلعاد سے دان تک کی ساری زمین دکھلا ئی۔ 2 خداوند نے اسے سارا نفتا لی جو افرا ئیم اور منّسی کا تھا دکھا یا۔ اس نے بحر قلزم تک یہوداہ کی سرزمین دکھا ئی۔ 3 خداوند نے موسیٰ کو کھجور کے درختوں کے شہر ضغرسے یریحو تک پھیلی وادی اور نیگیو دکھا یا۔ 4 خداوند نے موسیٰ سے کہا ، “یہ وہ ملک ہے جس کا میں نے ابراہیم ، اسحاق اور یعقوب سے وعدہ کیا تھا ، ’میں اس ملک کو تمہا ری نسلوں کو دوں گا۔ میں نے تمہیں اس ملک کو دکھا یا لیکن تم وہاں جا نہیں سکتے۔”‘
My point of view about above verses
God told Moses you shall not cross the Jordan – Joshua will lead Israelites
Lord told Moses you will die on Mount Nebo in Moab as Haroon died on Mount Hor – As you both broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at waters of Meribah as you didn't uphold my holiness – Therefore you will see the land from a distance and you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel
God showed whole land to Moses from Mount Nebo which he promised with an oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and said I will give it to descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob – I have let you see it with your own eyes but you will not cross it
God demands obedience in all circumstances even from his prophet like Moses - with whom he talked -
- so we need to obey God and in turn get His blessings otherwise disaster for us
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
