Joshua; Chapter 7 Verse 10-12
Achan’s Sin
10 The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face? 11 Israel has sinned; they have violated my covenant, which I commanded them to keep. They have taken some of the devoted things; they have stolen, they have lied, they have put them with their own possessions. 12 That is why the Israelites cannot stand against their enemies; they turn their backs and run because they have been made liable to destruction. I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction
10 خداو ندنے یشوع سے کہا ، “کھڑے ہو جا ؤ تم مُنہ کے بَل زمین پر کیوں گرے ہو ؟ 11 بنی اسرا ئیلیوں نے میرے خلا ف گناہ کئے انہوں نے میری مرضی کے خلا ف کیا۔ جس کی تعمیل کا میں نے حکم دیا تھا۔ انہو ں نے کچھ چیزیں لیں جنہیں تباہ کرنے کا میں نے حکم دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے میری چوری کی ہے انہوں نے جھو ٹی بات کہی ہے۔ انہوں نے وہ چیزیں اپنے پاس رکھی ہیں۔ 12 یہی وجہ ہے کہ اسرا ئیل کی فوج جنگ سے مُنہ موڑ کر بھا گ گئی۔ یہ ان کی بُرا ئی کی وجہ سے ہوا۔ انہیں بر باد کردینا چا ہئے۔ میں تمہاری مدد نہیں کرو ں گا۔ میں اس وقت تک تمہا رے ساتھ نہیں رہوں گا جب تک تم یہ نہ کرو۔ تمہیں ہر اس چیز کو تباہ کر دینی چا ہئے جسے میں نے برباد کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Joshua be strong and courageous – be careful to obey my laws and decrees Moses gave you- don’t turn right or left so that you may be successful wherever you go –
After capture of Jerico city ;Israelites were unfaithful in devoted things so Lord’s anger burned against them
God told Joshua – Israelites has sinned they have broke the covenant and take some of the devoted things – they have taken some of devoted things – they stole – they lied – they turn their backs and run so they are liable to destruction – I will not be with you any more unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction
God wants us to be up-right in our dealings towards Him and our fellow-beings
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
