Joshua; Chapter 7 Verse 13
Achan’s Sin
13 “Go, consecrate the people. Tell them, ‘Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.
3 “اب تم جا ؤ اور لوگوں کو پا ک کرو۔ لوگوں سے کہو ، ’ وہ اپنے کو پاک کریں کل کے لئے تیار ہو جا ؤ۔ اسرا ئیل کا خداوندخدا کہتا ہے کہ کچھ لوگوں نے وہ چیزیں اپنے پاس رکھی ہیں جنہیں میں نے تباہ کرنے کا حکم دیا تھا۔ تم تب تک اپنے دشمنوں کو شکست دینے کے قابل نہ ہو گے جب تک تم اُن چیزوں کو مکمل طور پر تباہ نہ کر دو۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Joshua be strong and courageous – be careful to obey my laws and decrees Moses gave you- don’t turn right or left so that you may be successful wherever you go –
After capture of Jerico city ;Israelites were unfaithful in devoted things so Lord’s anger burned against them
God told Joshua – Israelites has sinned they have broke the covenant and take some of the devoted things – they have taken some of devoted things – they stole – they lied – they turn their backs and run so they are liable to destruction
God told Joshua tell Israelites there are dedicated things among you – you can’t stand against your enemies until and unless you remove them so consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow
– I will not be with you any more unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction
God wants us to be up-right in our dealings towards Him and our fellow-beings
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
