Joshua; Chapter 13 Verse 1
Land Still to Be Taken
When Joshua had grown old, the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.
2 “This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines and Geshurites, 3 from the Shihor River on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite though held by the five Philistine rulers in Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron; the territory of the Avvites 4 on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek and the border of the Amorites; 5 the area of Byblos; and all Lebanon to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon to Lebo Hamath.
6 “As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim, that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you, 7 and divide it as an inheritance among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh.”
غیر مقبوضہ زمین
13 جب یشوع بہت بوڑھے ہو گئے تو خداوند نے ا س سے کہا ، “یشوع ، تم بوڑھے ہو گئے ہو لیکن ابھی بہت سی زمین ہے جسے تمہیں قبضہ کرنی ہے۔ 2 تم نے ابھی تک جسور لوگوں کی زمین اور فلسطینیوں کی زمین نہیں لی ہے۔ 3 تم نے مصر کی سر حد پر سیحور دریا سے شمال میں عکران کی سر حد تک کا علا قہ نہیں لیا ہے۔ وہ ابھی تک کنعانی لوگوں کا ہے۔ تمہیں بادشاہ اشدود ، اسقلان ، جا ت ، اور پانچوں فلسطینی قائدین کو شکست دینی ہے۔ تمہیں ان حوّی لوگوں کو شکست دینی چا ہئے۔ 4 جو کنعانی سر زمین کے جنوب میں رہتے ہیں۔ 5 تم نے ابھی جبیلی لوگوں کے علاقہ کو شکست نہیں دی ہے اور ابھی بعل جا د کے مشرق میں لبنان میں حُر مون پہا ڑی کی ترا ئی کا علاقہ بھی ہے۔
6 “صیدون کے لوگ لبنان سے مسر فات الما ئم کے پہا ڑی تک رہتے ہیں۔ لیکن میں بنی اسرا ئیلیو ں کے لئے ان سب کو زبردستی باہر نکال دو ں گا۔ جب تم بنی اسرا ئیلیو ں میں زمین تقسیم کرو تو اس علاقہ کو نامزد کرنا ضرور یاد رکھو۔ اور میں نے جیسا کہا ویسا ہی کرو۔ 7 اب زمین کو ۹ خاندانی گروہوں اور منسّی کے آدھے خاندانی گروہ میں تقسیم کرو۔ ”
My point of view about above verses
When Joshua grow old God told him still there is huge land to take control of so allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance and divide it among nine tribes and half of tribe of Manasseh
God guides his people so that they tell their generations- to do what after them as God told Joshua to divide the land among Isrealites tribes - even the land is not occupied yet and Joshua did so as he knows God fulfills His promises with generations to come if we keep obeying Him
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives
