Joshua; Chapter 24 Verse 11-13
11 “‘Then you crossed the Jordan and came to Jericho. The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites, but I gave them into your hands. 12 I sent the hornet ahead of you, which drove them out before you—also the two Amorite kings. You did not do it with your own sword and bow. 13 So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’
1 تب تم نے دریا ئے یردن کے پار تک سفر کیا تم لوگ یریحو کی سر زمین میں آئے۔ یریحو شہر میں رہنے والے لوگ تمہارے خلاف لڑے۔ اموری، فرزّی، کنعانی ، حتّی، جرجاسی، حوّی، اور یبوسی لوگ بھی تمہارے خلاف لڑے لیکن میں نے تمہیں اُن سب کو شکست دینے دی۔ 12 جب تمہاری فوج آگے بڑھی تو میں نے انکے آگے بھونرے بھیجے۔ اُن بھونروں کی ٹکڑیوں نے لوگوں کو بھاگنے کے لئے مجبور کیا اس لئے تم لوگوں نے اپنی تلواروں اور کمانوں کا استعمال کئے بغیر ہی ان دو بادشاہ کو شکست دی اور انکی زمین پر قبضہ کر لئے۔
13 میں ہی خدا وند تھا جس نے تمہیں وہ سر زمین دی۔ میں نے تمہیں وہ سر زمین دی جہاں تمہیں کوئی کام نہیں کرنا پڑا۔ میں نے تمہیں شہر دیئے جنہیں تمکو بنانا نہیں پڑا۔ اب تم اس سر زمین اور ان شہروں میں رہتے ہو تمہارے پاس انگور کی بیلیں اور زیتون کے باغ ہیں لیکن ان باغوں کو تم نے نہیں لگا یا تھا۔”
My point of view about above verses
God fulfilled all his promises which he made to ancestors of Israelites and gave them all the land he promised and gave all their enemies into their hands
Joshua narrating God and said, God says long ago Terah – the father of Abraham and Nahor lived beyond the Euphrates river and worshipped other gods – but I took Abraham and gave him Isaac and to him Jacob and Esau- I assigned all hill country to Esau but Jacob and his family went down to Egypt
Then God sent Moses and Aaron and afflicted Egyptians – and bring you out of Egypt and you came to the sea, Egyptians pursued you with their chariots and horsemen – and they cried to the Lord for help and I brought the sea over them and cover them – so saw what I did to the Egyptians and you lived in wilderness for a long time
I the Lord gave you land of Amorites – they fought against you but I gave them into your hands and you took possession of their land. When Balak prepared to fight against you he sent Balaam to curse you but I did not listen Balaam so he blessed you again and again and I delivered you out of his hand
I the Lord gave citizens of Jericho, Amorites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites and Jebusites into your hands – you didn't do it with your own sword and bow – so I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build and you live in them and eat from it which you did not plant
Our God fulfills his promises if we keep trusting Him and obeying Him with our hearts, body, mind and soul - He is only God; who gave us power to fight and even fights for us - He changed the words of curse into blessings - He can provide us homes to live we did not build and food to eat through fields we did not plant
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
