Judges; Chapter 2 Verse 1-5
The Angel of the Lord at Bokim
The angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bokim and said, “I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land I swore to give to your ancestors. I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you, 2 and you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars.’ Yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this? 3 And I have also said, ‘I will not drive them out before you; they will become traps for you, and their gods will become snares to you.’”
4 When the angel of the Lord had spoken these things to all the Israelites, the people wept aloud, 5 and they called that place Bokim. There they offered sacrifices to the Lord.
2 خداوند کا فرشتہ جلجال شہر سے بوکیم گیا۔ فرشتہ نے خداوند کا ایک پیغام بنی اسرا ئیلیوں کو دیا۔ پیغام یہ تھا :“ تم مصر میں غلام تھے۔ لیکن میں نے تمہیں آزا د کیا اور میں تمہیں مصر سے باہر لا یا۔ میں تمہیں اس ملک میں لا یا جسے تمہا رے باپ داد اکو دینے کے لئے میں نے وعدہ کیا تھا میں نے کہا ، میں تم سے کبھی اپنا معاہدہ نہیں تو ڑونگا۔ 2 لیکن اس کے بدلے تمہیں اس زمین پر رہنے وا لے لوگوں کے ساتھ کو ئی معاہدہ نہیں کرنا ہے۔ تم ان لوگوں کی قربان گا ہوں کو ضرور تباہ کرو۔ پھر بھی تم نے میری نہیں سنی تم ایسا کیسے کر سکتے ہو ؟
3 “ میں نے بھی کہا ، ’میں اس ملک سے لوگوں کو اور باہر نہیں ہٹا ؤں گا۔ یہ لوگ تمہا رے لئے مسئلہ بنیں گے وہ تمہا رے لئے پھندا بنیں گے۔ انکے جھو ٹے دیوتا تمہیں پھنسانے کے لئے جال کی مانند بن جا ئیں گے۔”‘
4 اور تب جب خداوند کا پیغام فرشتہ نے بنی اسرا ئیلیوں کو دیا تو لوگ زارو قطار روئے۔ 5 اس لئے بنی اسرا ئیلیوں نے خداوند کے لئے قربانیاں پیش کیں۔
My point of view about above verses
Angel of Lord went to people of Bokim and said as you make covenant with people of this land and break the covenant with Lord your God so you disobey God – so I will not drive them away, they will become a trap for you – Then people wept and they offered sacrifices to Lord
If we disobey God, He left us and people aroung us catch us in a trap
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
