Judges; Chapter 6 Verse 27-29
27 So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the Lord told him. But because he was afraid of his family and the townspeople, he did it at night rather than in the daytime.
28 In the morning when the people of the town got up, there was Baal’s altar, demolished, with the Asherah pole beside it cut down and the second bull sacrificed on the newly built altar!
29 They asked each other, “Who did this?”
When they carefully investigated, they were told, “Gideon son of Joash did it.”
27 اس لئے جِدعون نے اپنے دس نوکروں کو لیا اور وہی کیا جو خدا وند نے کرنے کو کہا تھا۔ لیکن وہ اِسے دن میں کرنے سے اپنے خاندان اور شہر کے لوگوں سے ڈر رہے تھے۔ اس لئے اس نے جو خدا وند نے کرنے کے لئے کہا تھا رات میں کیا۔ جب شہر کے لوگ صبح میں اٹھے تو یہ دیکھ کر تعجب میں پڑ گئے کہ بعل کی قربان گاہ توڑی ہوئی تھی۔ یسیرت کی قربان گاہ کٹی پڑی تھی اور اسکے باپ کا سات سالہ بیل کی نئی بنی قربان گاہ پر قربانی دے دی گئی تھی۔
28 اگلی صبح شہر کے لوگ سو کر اٹھے اور انہوں نے دیکھا کہ بعل کی قربان گاہ تباہ کردی گئی ہے انہوں نے یہ بھی دیکھا کہ یسیرت کا ستون کاٹ دیا گیا ہے۔ یسیرت کا ستون بعل کی قربان گاہ کے بالکل پیچھے گِرا پڑا تھا۔ ان لوگوں نے اس قربان گاہ کو بھی دیکھا۔ جسے جِد عون نے بنایا تھا۔ اور اس قربان گاہ پر دی گئی قربانی کے بیل کو بھی دیکھا۔
29 شہر کے لوگوں نے ایک دوسرے سے پوچھا ، “ہماری قربان گاہ کو کس نے گرائی ؟ ہمارے یسیرت کے ستون کو کس نے کاٹا ؟ اس نئی قربان گاہ پر کس نے اس بیل کی قربانی دی ؟” انہوں نے کئی سوالات کئے اور یہ پتہ لگانا چاہا کہ وہ کام کس نے کئے۔
کسی نے کہا ، “یوآس کے بیٹے جِد عون نے یہ کام کیا۔”
My point of view about above verses
Lord became very angry with Israel and said as this nation has violated the covenant I made with their ancestors – I will no longer drive other nations out and will test Israel through them whether they follow the way of the Lord as their ancestors did
God told Gideon take the second bull from your father’s herd and offer it on altar as a burnt offering - first tear down your father’s altar and build proper altar for the Lord
Gideon did as God commanded him and tear down Baal's altar at night and build new altar
When we returns to God, he plans for our rescue - sometimes he ask us to stand against our own parents - as he told Gideon to tear down the altar his father built for Baal
May God give us wisdom to understand His Word and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
