1Samuel ; Chapter 2 Verse 34-36

Prophecy Against the House of Eli

34 “‘And what happens to your two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, will be a sign to you—they will both die on the same day. 35 I will raise up for myself a faithful priest, who will do according to what is in my heart and mind. I will firmly establish his priestly house, and they will minister before my anointed one always. 36 Then everyone left in your family line will come and bow down before him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread and plead, “Appoint me to some priestly office so I can have food to eat.”’”

34 تمہا رے لئے یہ ایک نشانی ہے کہ یہ سب چیزیں ہوں گی۔ تمہا رے دونوں بیٹے حُفنی اور فینحاس ایک ہی دن مر جا ئیں گے۔ 35 میں ایک وفادار کا ہن کو اپنے لئے چن لو ں گا۔ وہ میری بات سنے گا اور جو میں چاہوں وہی کرے گا۔ میں اس کے خاندان کو قوت بخشوں گا۔ وہ ہمیشہ میرے چنے ہو ئے بادشاہ کے سامنے خدمت کرے گا۔ 36 تب تمام لو گ جو تمہا رے خاندان میں بچے ہیں وہ آئیں گے اور اس کا ہن کے سامنے جھک جا ئیں گے۔ وہ لوگ چھو ٹی رقم یا روٹی کے ٹکڑے کی بھیک مانگیں گے۔ وہ کہیں گے ، “برائے کرم کا ہن جیسی ہمیں ملازمت دو تا کہ ہمیں کچھ کھا نے کو ملے۔ ‘”

My point of view about above verses

Eli said to his sons that if someone sin against another man – God may mediate for the offender but if anyone sins against Lord- who will intercede for them – but they didn't listen to their father as it was Lord’s will to put them to death

A man of God told Eli that God says that He has chosen your tribe from Israelites to go to my altar and offer food offerings, but your sons deal with my offerings with contempt – why do u honor your sons more than me by fattening yourselves on the choice part of every offering made by my people Israel

Therefore, God punished Eli and his descendants for treating God’s offering with contempt and said no one in your family line will ever reach old age – to whom I will not cut off spared only to destroy your sight and sap your strength

God told Eli that your both sons will die on same day and I will raise up a faithful priest – and people left from your family bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread – and say to him give me some priestly duties so that I can have food to eat

God wants us to give him importance more than anything in the world - worship Him, offer Him and all will go well with us - otherwise be prepared for punishment as God punished Eli and his sons and raised Samuel up for priesthood

May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
