1Samuel ; Chapter 8 Verse 10-22
10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”
19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.”
21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.”
Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”
10 ان لوگوں نے بادشاہ کے لئے پوچھا اِس لئے سموئیل نے ان لوگوں سے ہر چیز کے متعلق کہا جو خدا وند نے کہا۔ 11 سموئیل نے کہا ، “اگر تمہارے پاس بادشاہ ہے تم پر حکومت کر رہا ہے وہ کیا کرے گا پتہ ہے وہ تمہارے بیٹوں کو لے لیگا وہ تمہارے بیٹوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ اسکی خدمت کریں۔ وہ ان پر زبردستی کریگا کہ سپاہی بنیں۔ انہیں رتھ سے لڑ نا چاہئے اور اسکی فوج میں گھوڑ سوار سپاہی بننا چاہئے۔ تمہارے بیٹے محافظ بنیں گے بادشاہ کی رتھ کے آگے دوڑیں گے۔
12 بادشاہ تمہارے بیٹوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ سپاہی بنیں ان میں کچھ ۱۰۰۰ آدمیوں پر افسر ہونگے۔ اور دوسرے پچاس آدمیوں پر افسر ہونگے۔
بادشاہ تمہارے کچھ بیٹوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ اسکے کھیت کو بوئیں اور فصل کاٹیں وہ تمہارے کچھ بیٹوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ اسکی رتھ کے لئے کچھ چیزیں بنائیں۔
3 “تمہاری چند بیٹیوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ اس کے لئے عطر بنا نے والے کی طرح کام کریں اور تمہاری کچھ بیٹیوں پر زبردستی کریگا کہ اس کے باورچیوں اور نان بائیوں کی طرح کام کریں۔
14 “ایک بادشاہ تمہارے بہترین کھیتوں کو اور انگور و زیتون کے باغوں کو بھی لے لیگا۔ وہ چیزیں تم سے لے لیگا اور اپنے افسروں کو دیگا۔ 15 وہ تمہارے اناج اور انگور کا دسواں حصّہ لے گا وہ یہ چیزیں اپنے خادموں اور افسروں کو دیگا۔
16 یہ بادشاہ تمہارے سب سے اچھے مردوں اور عورت خادموں ، جوان مردوں ،اور تمہارے گدھے اور مال مویشی کو اپنے کام کے لئے لے لیگا۔ 17 اور تمہارے ریوڑ کا دسواں حصّہ لے لیگا۔”
اور تم سب خود اس بادشاہ کے غلام بن جاؤ گے۔
18 اور جب وہ وقت آئیگا اس دن تم اس بادشاہ کی وجہ سے جسے تم نے چُنا ہے روؤگے۔ لیکن اسوقت خدا وند تمہاری نہیں سنے گا۔
19 لیکن لوگ سموئیل کی نہیں سنیں گے انہوں نے کہا ، “نہیں ہم لوگ ایک بادشاہ چاہتے ہیں جو ہم پر حکومت کرے۔ 20 تاکہ ہم بھی دوسری قوموں کی مانند ہو سکیں۔ہمارا بادشاہ ہم پر حکومت کرے۔ وہ لڑا ئی کرنے میں ہماری رہنمائی کرے اور ہمارے لئے جنگیں لڑے۔”
21 سموئیل نے لوگوں کی باتیں سنی اور تب انکے الفاظ کو خدا وند کے ہاں دہرایا۔ 22 خدا وند نے جواب دیا ، “تمہیں ان کی باتوں کو سننا چاہئے انہیں ایک بادشاہ دو۔
تب سموئیل نے بنی اسرائیلیوں سے کہا ، “اچھا تمہیں بادشاہ ملے گا۔ اب تم لوگ واپس گھر جاؤ۔”
My point of view about above verses
As Samuel grew old – Israelites told him appoint on us a king who can lead us,
God told Samuel to do what they asked as its not you they have rejected but its me they have rejected as their king
But God told that what King can do to them
Samuel told Israelites all mentioned above the king can demand as his right and they have to be his slaves but they said no – we want a king So God told Samuel give them a king
Then Samuel said to the Israelites, “Everyone go back to your own town.”
When we reject God and his kingship in our lives - we suffer and be on mercy of those whom we made our kings
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
