1Samuel ; Chapter 14 Verse 38 -46
38 Saul therefore said, “Come here, all you who are leaders of the army, and let us find out what sin has been committed today. 39 As surely as the Lord who rescues Israel lives, even if the guilt lies with my son Jonathan, he must die.” But not one of them said a word.
40 Saul then said to all the Israelites, “You stand over there; I and Jonathan my son will stand over here.”
“Do what seems best to you,” they replied.
41 Then Saul prayed to the Lord, the God of Israel, “Why have you not answered your servant today? If the fault is in me or my son Jonathan, respond with Urim, but if the men of Israel are at fault, respond with Thummim.” Jonathan and Saul were taken by lot, and the men were cleared. 42 Saul said, “Cast the lot between me and Jonathan my son.” And Jonathan was taken.
3 Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.”
So Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey with the end of my staff. And now I must die!”
44 Saul said, “May God deal with me, be it ever so severely, if you do not die, Jonathan.”
45 But the men said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die—he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the Lord lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued Jonathan, and he was not put to death.
46 Then Saul stopped pursuing the Philistines, and they withdrew to their own land.
38 اس لئے ساؤل نے حکم دیا ، “تمام قائدین کو میرے پاس لا ؤ۔ ہمیں معلوم کرنے دو کہ وہ کیا گناہ ہے جس کی وجہ سے خدانے ہمیں جواب نہ دیا۔ 39 میں قسم سے کہتا ہوں( حلف ) خداوند کی کہ کون اسرا ئیل کو بچاتا ہے۔ حتیٰ کہ میرا بیٹا یونتن بھی اگر گناہ کرے گا تو اس کو مرنا ہو گا۔” لوگوں میں سے کسی نے بھی ایک لفظ نہ کہا۔
40 تب ساؤل نے تمام اسرا ئیلیوں سے کہا ، “تم اس طرف کھڑے رہو میں اور میرا بیٹا یونتن دوسری طرف کھڑے رہیں گے۔ ”
سپا ہیوں نے جواب دیا “ جیسی آپ کی مرضی جناب۔”
41 تب ساؤل نے دعا کی ، “خداوند اسرا ئیل کے خدا تو نے آج اپنے خادموں کو کیوں جواب نہیں دیا ؟ اگر میں یا میرا بیٹا یونتن نے گنا ہ کیا ہے توخداوند اسرا ئیل کے خدا اور یم دے۔ اگر تمہا رے بنی اسرائیلیوں نے گناہ کئے ہیں تو تمیم دے۔” ساؤل اور یونتن کو چن لیا گیا اور لوگ آزاد رہے تھے
42 ساؤل نے کہا ، “ان کو دوبارہ پھینکو یہ بتانے کے لئے کہ کون قصور وار ہے میں یا میرا بیٹا یونتن۔” یونتن چنا گیا۔
43 ساؤ ل نے یونتن سے کہا ، “مجھے کہو تم نے کیا کیا ہے ؟ ”
یونتن نے جواب دیا ، “میں نے اپنی چھڑی کے سِرے سے تھو ڑا شہد چکھا ، میں یہاں ہوں اور مرنے کے لئے تیار ہوں۔”
44 ساؤل نے کہا ، “میں نے خدا سے قسم کھا ئی اور کہا کہ اگر میں قسم میں پو را نہ ہوا تو یونتن مر جا ئے۔”
45 لیکن سپا ہیوں نے ساؤل سے کہا ، “یونتن آج اسرا ئیل کے لئے عظیم فتح اور جلال لا یا ہے۔ کیا یونتن کو مرنا چا ہئے ؟ کبھی نہیں ، ہم خدا کی حیات کی قسم کھا تے ہیں کو ئی بھی یونتن کو نقصان نہ پہو نچا ئے گا۔ یونتن کے سر کا ایک بال بھی زمین پر نہ گریگا۔ خدا نے فلسطینیوں کے خلاف لڑنے میں اس کی مدد کی۔” اس طرح لوگوں نے یونتن کو بچا لیا اور وہ ما را نہیں گیا۔
46 ساؤل نے فلسطینیوں کا تعاقب نہیں کیا۔ فلسطینی واپس ان کی جگہ چلے گئے۔
My point of view about above verses
Saul asked God should we go and pursue Philistine but God did not answer him as Jonathan son of Saul has ate honey which Saul told no one will eat but Saul was unaware of that
God did not answer us because of some iregularties we conduct in our day to day life
When Saul came to know about Johathon that he ate honey he said he will certainly die but Issralites said he delivered us from the hand of Philistines with the help of God so one of his hair will not fall on ground so they rescued Jhonthon from the hand of Saul
Saul did not fulfill his words towards God - so suffered in later years of his life - we must care for God and not for people even for our own childern like Saul did and rescued Jhonthon through Israelites
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
