Elijah and Obadiah
Elijah on Mount Carmel
27 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” 28 So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed. 29 Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.
27 دوپہر میں ایلیاہ نے ان کا مذاق اڑا یا۔ ایلیاہ نے کہا ، “اگر بعل حقیقت میں دیوتا ہے تو تب تمہیں بلند آواز سے دعا کرنی ہو گی۔ ہو سکتا ہے وہ سوچ رہا ہو۔ یا پھر وہ مصروف ہو۔ یا ہو سکتا ہے وہ سفر کر رہا ہو۔ وہ سو رہا ہو گا۔ یا ہو سکتا ہے تم بلند آواز سے دعا کرو تو وہ جاگ جا ئے۔” 28 اس لئے نبیوں نے اونچی آواز سے دعائیں کیں وہ لوگ اپنے آپکو تلواروں اور بھالوں سے گھائل کر لئے۔( یہ انکی عبادت کا طریقہ تھا۔) ان لوگوں نے اپنے آپ کو اس قدر گھا ئل کر لیا کہ خون بہنے لگا۔ 29 دوپہر کا وقت گذر گیا لیکن آ گ ابھی تک شروع نہ ہو ئی تھی۔ نبی اس وقت تک جنگلی حرکتیں کرتے رہے۔ جب تک شام کی قربانی کا وقت نہ آ گیا لیکن بعل کی طرف سے کو ئی جواب نہ تھا۔ کو ئی آواز نہ تھی کو ئی بھی نہیں سُن رہا تھا۔
My point of view about above verses
God told Elijah – go and present yourself to Ahab and I will send rain on the land and he did so
God use Elijah to speak to king and Baal prophets and other people
Its God only Who uses us for specific purpose - question is are we receptive to listen God so lets be in continous connection with Him to live a life He wants us to live - just to obey Him and wonders happen
May God give us wisdom to understand Him through His Word as He speaks with us through this - and apply it in our lives to have a blissful life on earth
